We only had a few hampers to choose from but they all sounded nice and are all stuffed with locally produced products. I have chosen the hamper with the Sheffield Gin amongst other things 😀
We used the gift card to buy a few bits for the van last year. Might do the same again this year. We have a few bits we could do with.

Glad to hear you've had a better day after the start @RelievedSheff
Re hamper haha bet they knew which one you were going to pick before you did lol. My Mrs has started getting a few nice surprises ready for my staff at Christmas; they are my greatest asset just as you and your colleagues are to the businesses you work in so I really don't understand companies that don't put any thought into a few nice gestures at Christmas time, it's a real shame imo.2 -
Not a no spends day today, need to go to the shops after work to pick a few bits up for the van.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. Breakfast was cereals, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is homemade burgers with air fried chips, beer battered onion rings and homemade coleslaw.
No jobs tonight other than putting a load of washing away that is in the machine.
Quite night in on the sofa with a few beers and a film or two tonight.0 -

I’ve never worked in a place that gives a Christmas gift….an occasionally candle from the headteacher. A nursery I worked used to share the Christmas chocolates etc in a draw for all the staff whether they were in contact with children or not - I always thought this was nice, I ended up with so much chocolate when I worked there…January spends - £587.580

I have just set up a small overpayment on our mortgage account. Nothing to get excited about it's only £5.73 but every little helps to reduce the interest paid and it takes the payment to a nice round figure at £1200.
I do like a round figure1 -

That makes sense now the debt is under control and apart from the loans on 0%. @RelievedSheff It's just a nice thing to do imo. Who'd have thought, I'm not a complete !!!!!! eh.
Fml hadn't realised the monthly payment on your mortgage is not too far off mine. My sad mind likes the idea of the round number though still can't bring myself to overpay my res mortgage even for a round number haha. Probably the only one on here but everytime I look at my res mortgage account when I'm not thinking about moving I think had I not done the 5 yr fix I could refinance up to 75ltv and release a very nice sum of money rn.0 -
I don’t get anything from my employer as they’re public sector but have in the past when I worked for small companies. One family owned company I worked for used to give us £500 after tax at Christmas plus pay for a meal out which was brilliant.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2
