We love pheasant. DH used to have shooting permission over some land for rabbits, however he did find the occasional rabbit with feathers sitting in a tree.1

Good to hear you had a nice weekend @RelievedSheff
Ha re pheasant; complete pain but will be nice when you eat it. Long time since I've had it but something my dad used to cook a fair amount when I was a kid.1 -
It won't be a no spends day today. We have to do the shopping after work tonight. Couldn't be bothered to go yesterday after we had finished dealing with pheasants.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores. It was toast for breakfast, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinne tonight is quiche with air fried paprika chips and vegetables.
Today's jobs are:- load of washing which should be dry when we get home
- doing the shopping
- vacuuming the house
- vacuuming the van
- walking the dog

This weeks bill lowering task is sorting out the other half's phone contract. He has now paid his contract in full. He is happy to keep the phone that he currently has so we will be looking to get him a sim only contract which will lower the monthly payment by about £20-25 per month.
Again not a great amount but all of these little savings are starting to add up to a decent amount per month and they will help to offset the increase in energy bills and fuel prices.1 -
The little savings all mount up 👍January spends - £587.582

I have cancelled our Amazon Prime subscription. We have not been using it or watching it so the £7.99 a month is better off in the bank account.
Not sure we have much else that is left for the chop1 -
Are you putting any money aside each month to replace your phones when the time comes?

If it helps with OH's phone, I have a SIM only deal with EE - Unlimited calls/texts plus 10gb of data - £8.50 a month. Might give you something to bargain with at least!
I keep debating over Prime but we do use it a fair amount so at the moment it has a stay of execution. there is a magazine subscription that might go before too long but I've got a super-cheap deal on it at the moment which I won't get again if I cancel it, so a bit reluctant to be too hasty in getting rid.
If you want "small delayed reaction MSE things" - we suddenly realised last night that we never use our DVD player any more (the TV has one built in), and as a result had completely forgotten that it's been sitting there on standby. It has now had the power cable pulled out! Might save us a few pennies over the year, and right now with the cost of energy, that seems worth having!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
