  • Ha - another one here who finds deleting unused DD's oddly satisfying, and indeed I have just done a couple this morning as several older ones transferred to the new account when we switched. It's nice and easy to see currently which ones are unused as they are mostly  the ones that haven't been taken since the switch!

My last phone (iPhoneSE - the original one not the SE2) lasted over 4 years - I'm fully expecting the current one to do the same!

I expect to get another couple of years from my phone once the contract runs out in July. I'm certainly not getting another on contract this time round. A decent 24 month sim only contract will do me fine. If I can get one similar to what the other half has just got I will be well happy with that and it will be a massive saving per month. Just got to wait while July now though.
  • You shouldn't need to be tied in for as long as 24 months for SIM only RS - there's plenty of decent deals around for an initial 12 months, then going onto rolling monthly after that - I'd fully expect 3 to match to those if they wanted to keep the business! (And yes, we know you want to stay with them, but remember, they don't know that!)

Not a no spends day today. The car has gone in for an MOT and service. It's only an oil and filter change this time so it shouldn't be too expensive and we don't expect it to fail the MOT on anything.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores though. Breakfast was crumpets, we have both taken our packed lunches to work and dinner tonight is jerk pork chop with air fried chips, beer battered onion ring, stuffed mushroom, corn on the cob and homemade coleslaw.

We must get some work done around the house tonight. We have been lazy so far this week and not got much done. It won't take long if we get stuck in.

Just submitted our meter readings for this month. With the mild weather we have had so far this month we have used less than we thought we would have. We will have added more to our credit balance which is unusual for us in November. November and March are usually months where our direct debit is pretty much what we use. Long may the mild weather last, although I don't expect it to be much longer :)

It is the dog's birthday today (Well one that we have given to him we don't know his real one) He very much enjoyed opening his present this morning and his birthday breakfast of sardines.

Happy Birthday to the dog 🐶
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)
  • Aww happy birthday to the dog!

I might just scrape under the DD level for power this month although it'll be a close run thing - mind you it's pointless me wondering as so far UW have proved incapable of actually accepting meter readings and billing us for anything more than the standing charge!

If my calculations are correct we should be about £20 under our DD amount for this month. Added to the credit we already have it gives us quite a buffer to use up over the next few months.

We can't fault Out Fox The Market's billing system. We have to submit meter readings once a month because the smart meters won't communicate with them but we get a clear and concise bill once a month based on the meter readings submitted. Their prices are also very competitive, or the tariff we are on is anyway but I don't think it is open to new customers anymore.

    Happy birthday to your dog!

Great news re the DDs now I've got the excel sheet well up and running its nice not to have to check the account for the DDs, I have far too !!!!!! many of them lol. Have to say it is satisfying to cancel any no longer required haha.

Re your phone, no idea if Samsung offer something similar - worth a look.

Think you're about the only one with a utility credit rn ha I know my rate is going up and the house is freezing all the time so have to heat it constantly any gain from it is straight out the windows/ walls/ roof anywhere but staying in the rooms keeping warm fml.

The car went straight through its MOT no problems with it at all which is nice to know.

We kicked ourselves into action when we got home and got some housework done and the van cleaned out. It didn't even take that long when we both got stuck in.

Feel better now its done. I hate an untidy home.

We do try and make sure we have plenty of credit for the winter months on our energy account. We like to know we can have the heating on as much as we want when the colder weather arrives and that it's covered, no nasty catch up bills on the horizon.
