I don’t get anything from my employer as they’re public sector but have in the past when I worked for small companies. One family owned company I worked for used to give us £500 after tax at Christmas plus pay for a meal out which was brilliant.
We normally have a huge Christmas meal and drinks for employees and partners at Christmas. But with Covid that hasn't happened again so they are doing hampers again. To be honest I prefer the hamper.

We usually have a few other social events throughout the year as well.

@RelievedSheff It's just a nice thing to do imo. Who'd have thought, I'm not a complete !!!!!! eh.

Fml hadn't realised the monthly payment on your mortgage is not too far off mine. My sad mind likes the idea of the round number though still can't bring myself to overpay my res mortgage even for a round number haha. Probably the only one on here but everytime I look at my res mortgage account when I'm not thinking about moving I think had I not done the 5 yr fix I could refinance up to 75ltv and release a very nice sum of money rn.
I suspect your mortgage balance is a lot larger and payable over a longer term than ours though 🤣🤣🤣

They closed down (possibly through being over generous 😆) which is how I ended up where I am now. At least I know this place is never going to close 🤣

@RelievedSheff you’re counting the days until it’s no more lol my dad says I should do the same fml.

My staff are having their own evening out which I’ve wound up paying for but can’t go to and wife has organised a booze free lunch which they don’t know about. I’m not really sure how well an AF event will go down with some of mine though tbh haha.

It could end up being a spendy today.

McDonald's for breakfast, the other half has requested this. Then soup for lunch and salmon Wellington with roasted sweet potato and vegetables for dinner tonight.

We are heading out in the van to a pub in Lincolnshire for tonight so will have some beers later as well. Plenty of dog walking first though.

We had a great day yesterday. Always such a warm welcome here. Must remember to go and pay our bar bill when the pub opens. We are in for brunch at 11am anyway.

Dinner is sorted later. We have a couple of pheasants hanging in the locker. The shooters came in the pub last night and they had loads spare so we blagged a pair 🤣🤣🤣
