Filled the fuel and LPG back up. Used 78 litres of diesel which came to just over £100 and the LPG bottles took 22 litres which came to £13.

Can live with those figures. That really hasn't made it an expensive trip at all.

    Clocked up 465 miles.

It will be a no spends day today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was a bacon and mushroom sandwich, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I will grab something from the fridge for my lunch and dinner tonight is pork goulash made with the left overs from yesterdays Sunday roast.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • vacuuming the house
    • dusting the house
    • walking the dog x 2

We were surprised with the fuel economy the van returned considering the rubbish roads we spent a lot of time on. 25.6mpg average for the whole trip. We are happy with that. Will be happy if we get similar on the Scotland trip later in the year.

Could quite happily go out and do another week on the van now. But unfortunately work beckons!!

    Under £40k, coming down nicely.

It must be good to know you can just jump in the van and go away at weekends if you want to. Pesky work getting in the way of weekdays 😆
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

It can't be far off time to try for 0% transfers.

Should hopefully be under the £39k mark by the end of the month  :)

It is nice to be able to get away as and when we want to. It gives us an escape if we need it.

    Well remembered.

My final CCJ drops off my credit file on Thursday so I just need to give it a couple of weeks or so to make sure that all of the CRA's have updated their records and then I can look at the balance transfer offers available.

Can hopefully start to make a real dent in the outstanding credit card balances then.

Just as a reminder to myself how much we have paid off of our debts I have compared the balances from September last year when I started this diary with the balances now.

We have paid off £7955 on existing balances since September (ignoring the van HP Loan as that wasn't present then!!)

I don't think that is too bad and it has certainly given me a bit of a boost on a damp, grey and miserable Monday morning  :)
