It will be a spendy day today. We are off up to the Tan Hill Inn.

Breakfast will be a Full English from stores though. Need to use some stuff up now that's in the fridge. Dinner tonight is in the pub.

It will be our most expensive stop over tonight at £40 but that does include breakfast in the morning for the two of us. Paid that about six weeks ago when we booked the spot for the night. Probably not a stop we will use very often but it would be rude not to visit while we are in the area.

The dog is still in bed snoring away. He is absolutely shattered. I think he has enjoyed his break and exploring new places every day. 😀

De lurking to say that we have used that site a few times on the way to, or back from our (pre CV19) 3 weeks touring Scotland. We have a little spot that we love and get quite put out if someone else is using it.
It is a great site. We will definitely be back here again. Probably for more than one night next time.

We quite like this pitch that we are on, number 86, would certainly use this one again but would try others as well.

We were thankful our van is small so we could pull into the glades and have a look around and then turn around to get back out. A couple of caravans pulled in here and had to unhitch to turn round and come back out again. That looked like a lot of messing about to us!

I can picture where you are and remember the birdsong and the little Robin flitting around the pitches - bliss.
We favour pitch 78, gives us loads of space for the dog to be tethered, but have stayed others in that corner too. Been trailer tenting, caravanning  etc for yonks so pretty good at sussing out the pitches for us without all that unhitching lark.
First time we arrived there, tired after drive from Shropshire we really thought we were in the wrong place up the lane, no signs after turned off road etc, huge sigh of relief when we spotted a van through the trees.
Enjoy Tan Hill, hope weather good.

We were the same driving up the road. Didn't help as you turn into the road that there is a low bridge sign 🤣🤣🤣

Know I’ve laughed about your van but seeing how you use it and the sort of places you’re going I’m half tempted to buy a massive caravan- don’t see the point in a motor home when I’ve got my Range Rover that’s capable of towing practically anything. It looks absolutely amazing mate, my kind of hol driving about a bit, lovely scenery, places that are different from home but no planes. Pay hardly anything when you get there etc

Im really !!!!!! envious lol not something I ever thought I would be saying.

We are really enjoying it. Seems to be a great way of seeing places.

This has been one of the most enjoyable trips we have done for a while.

Really looking forward to our Scotland trip later in the year now.

The advantage to a van over a caravan is the the lack of towing and reversing. If you are confident with this fine but I seem to remember you saying you had difficulty parking sometimes. If I have mis remembered my apologies.

@RelievedSheff I don’t blame you it looks amazing tbh. 👍 glad you’re enjoying it and getting the value from the van too.

@ladyholly yeah it’s not something I’m amazing at haha. I’m not as bad as my staff make out though fml running joke they save two spaces for me at the office. Tbf if I did it I’d go on the course. I’m not serious about buying one tbh does seem a nice idea but just that. I don’t need to be spending money on it and there’s no chance my Mrs would ever agree to it as a way to holiday lol.

The roads up to Tan Hill have done nothing for the fuel economy. Saw 4mpg on one of the hills 🤣🤣🤣

    Lovely place though.
