We were the same when we had the boat. Very rare we had a weekend at home.alt80 said:Being home for the weekend probably is a novelty to you now!
I don't think we will be quite so bad with the van because we don't have to go anywhere to check on it. With the boat we had to drive to the marina to check everything was ok with it. By the time we had driven there we may as well have taken the boat out. With the van it is at least just sat on the drive. Can just nip out to check things as and when.
A weekend at home with no plans will be nice

We are due to go out next week in our new caravan and cannot wait. It feels different just looking where we want to go and the price u pay is minuscule to what we normally pay and we can now go anywhere we feel like. So far we have a few breaks booked over the next few months as we can use the van over winter. Have been following your travels with interest. We are like u lucky that we can have our caravan stored on our drive so we can get it ready to travel in no time.xx:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.002

I bet that's a huge relief to get rid of the CCJ. Ugh to plague of harvest flies, hate anything like that. Reminded me it's getting to flying ant season any time now, they drive me nuts, they're so dozy, get everywhere.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

It is a massive relief to get it gone. The final reminder of how desperate things were!!Sun_Addict said:I bet that's a huge relief to get rid of the CCJ. Onwards and upwards now
Will just give the CRA's a few weeks to update their records and then start looking for a balance transfer card to start making a dent in the credit card balances.2 -
Congratulations! 🥂 now crack open a bottle of champagne and get that 0% applied for. 😆
You’ve moved on from the dark days that resulted in the CCJs etc to get through to where you are now is incredible. You’ve not let it get to you and from what I can see you have still managed to live a life. Absolute inspiration to anyone but especially those who might be on here because it’s got that bad. Tbh whilst I’ve not been there, I acknowledge there’s only so many times I can keep building large personal debt for stupid stuff before something similar could happen. I have been saved by my res portfolio but really all that did was buy me time until my head was in the right place to want to deal with it all. Might have a bit of banter with you but you’re an inspiration to me too, I think your mindset is incredible.5 -
Great that the CCJ drops off today. Good idea to leave it a couple of weeks to make sure it's gone before applying for a 0% CC. That debt will definitely drop much quicker without interest to pay.

Thank you.
Bit early for the champagne yet. Might have a beer or two with the BBQ later though. See how I feel later.4 -
