I like to read your food posts too…..gives me inspiration.
People’s perspective to money and the need to boast or not amuses me…..in my experience the ones with the cash don’t boast about it…..and are down to earth.

The corn flies are back this afternoon causing a nuisance of themselves. Hopefully they disappear just as quickly this evening!

It should be a low spends day today. Just need to go and get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop.

Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast and a bbq later for dinner.

Today we are going to tidy up the front garden and get the hedge cut. It shouldn't take too long but the heat will probably slow us down. We will be in the full sun. So plan is to get started soon before it gets too hot to bear.

Don't think we will be taking the dog too far today. It will be too hot for him.

Definitely glad we got the garden done early. It was still a bit hot in the blazing sun but we had a shady spot down the side of the house to escape too and a couple of spells in the car with the air con on.

Garden looks a lot better now.

I had our Collie out at just gone 6am this morning as he hasn't had a reasonable run for a couple of days due to heat. This was followed by the other 2 and all home by 7. It was warm then and according to the forecast it will still be 25 at 10pm. Fortunately as they are all older (Collie is the youngest at 10) they are not dogs that want to go far.

The front was getting a bit unruly 🤣🤣🤣

It was definitely ready for a blitz.

The dog is chief gardening supervisor.

Managed to stop him digging his own holes today.

We decided this afternoon to give our old tent an airing. We bought this one about 20 years ago and have had some cracking weekends away and holidays with it.

We were trying to figure out when it last came out and we reckon it was probably 2016 when we last went to the Classic Ford show at Santa Pod in the Sierra.

The dog was suitably amused by it. Reckon it is the first time he has seen a tent 😄

As its 33 degrees in our bedroom and it definitely isn't in  the tent , we have made the executive decision that we are sleeping in the tent tonight.

Only us can have a weekend off camping in the van and end up camping in the tent in the garden 🤣🤣🤣
