All in a good cause in the long run for the years of enjoyment you’ll get from the van.

That's what we are telling ourselves :)

It will be worth it in the end and five years will fly by.

Things will only get easier in the coming months with our mortgage switching deals this month, Card 3 paid off in August, Cards 4 and 5 put onto 0% deals in July and the car HP paid off in March.

Not a no spends day again. We have an Asda delivery coming this afternoon.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are from stores though. Breakfast was crumpets, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having soup and bread for my lunch and dinner tonight is roast duck with stir fried vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • cleaning the kitchen
    • putting away the home shopping delivery
    • walking the dog x 2
The other half was glad to be back at work yesterday. They are all back now and it looks like they will all be back full time. They are quite busy this week and work is coming in for the next few weeks, so fingers crossed for them.

He's gone back to work for a rest 😆 It's good to see things slowly starting to return to normality, hopefully they'll continue to be busy and no more furlough. My DS's work has been really busy all through the pandemic, he had less than a week off on furlough, which he was quite miffed about 😆

He's gone back to pay for the van  :)

We worked it out last night and the extra money he will get each month for being back at work (which works out at about £60 per week) works out at about £260 per month which is two thirds of what the van is costing each month. He was happy to go back to work when I put it across that way to him  :D

That's a really good way of looking at it :)

Just caught up - glad to hear you're enjoying the van. Tbh don't really see a problem with the debt for it so long as it's affordable to you when you're getting as much use from it as you will if you carry on as you are. Not gonna lie I get through this next couple of years, !!!!!! the cards off, keep off the stuff and I'm getting an AM maybe 2 years time will be before I've paid Land Rover off. Thinking I'll probably end up throwing another £48.5k on the 0% get the car paid for and deal with after - life's too short mate need something for you but not letting it get out of all control know that 100% being holed up on the cokeheads programme haha lost track of time a bit lol.

Another note can't believe your OH is only just getting back to work fml mind glass houses and throwing stones there with my Mrs ha - you must be the breadwinner.

He is hopefully back full time now.

We have taken the view that we will definitely get value for our money from the van so it is worth taking on the extra debt for something that we know we will enjoy.

We know we can afford it and as the months go by it will get easier as other debts get paid off and balance transferred.

Just need to build some savings up again now.
