£233 paid off Card 5 today. Other than this it will be a no spends day today.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was cereals, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, my lunch will be tuna salad wraps and dinner tonight is lightly smoked salmon fillets with vegetable rice and some fresh vegetables.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home
    • load of washing (dried in the dryer. Weather looks set to be rubbish again today)
    • vacuuming the house
    • cleaning the bathrooms
    • walking the dog x 2
The other half has to drop into the van dealership tonight after work to get the hab check history book and the service history booked filled in. They forgot to do that before we picked the van up. They really are the most unorganised place we have ever bought anything from. We will be keeping our dealings with them to the absolute minimum necessary. They certainly won't be doing the hab check or the servicing from now on!!

The dealer wouldn't be Marq*is by any chance would it?  Never heard anything good about them.  Best bet is to use someone you trust to do the servicing - maybe your OH's garage would be able to do it if they've got a big enough ramp?  Hab checks are a bit of a waste of money as they don't check the things I think actually ought to be checked like the gas!  Having said that as your van is fairly new you may need to have them done to keep the warranty up to date - ours is much older than that.

It is indeed Marq*is. Unfortunately for us they are the only UK dealer for the van brand that we have so we had very little choice when buying as most of the vans end up back with them.

We have to have the hab checks to keep up the warranty for the next couple of years but we won't be going back to them for it. We just don't trust them anymore.

We have someone in mind for the servicing and MOT. Although we don't have to worry about that for a while. The next service is 24 months or £30k miles whichever comes first and the MOT isn't due until next April as they did MOT it for us after a bit of pushing.

I hate to tell you this but the weather is glorious here today as it was yesterday - just very cold. Got loads of washing dried outside yesterday and two loads out today.

Terrible customer service from the dealership, best to avoid any future dealings with them unless you really have to.

Looking out of the window it is lovely here after the weather forecast said it should be raining. Oh well. Washing is nearly dry in the dryer now!!

    The service is just dire.
The van will pay for itself over time.....and at the end of the day you still have something to sell should the worse happen, they seem to keep their value.
We’ve had lovely bright weather too....a tad chilly but other than Monday virtually no rain. And I’m just the other side of the hills from you.

You would think the dealership would send somebody to the house to complete the paperwork as it is yet another problem that has been caused by them not doing their job. Or if the is a reason the paperwork can only be completed in the office, they should be paying for couriers to collect and return the paperwork the same day.

As it happens it isn't really out of our way to go there on the way home from work. It really is just down the road. But it is annoying that we are having to do the chasing up for stuff that should have been done right in the first place.

It has turned into a productive day at home today. Our work servers have been down all day and are still not working. I had enough stuff on my desktop to keep me busy this morning but this afternoon has been spent doing stuff around the house, cutting the grass and cleaning out the van ready for the weekend.

It does mean I will be having a busy day tomorrow though catching up if they manage to restore these servers!!

Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from stores. Breakfast was toast, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, omelette for my lunch today and tonight we are having pizza and a few beers on the sofa while watching a couple of films.

    Today's jobs include:
    • working from home (if the servers are restored. They are not yet!!)
    • dusting the house
    • cleaning the windows and mirrors
    • walking the dog x 2
We have the other half's dad coming today to install an outside socket for plugging in the van when it is on the drive. We currently have it plugged into a socket in the garage with the cable trailed across the drive which isn't really ideal. The socket on the house will tidy things up a bit.
