That’s probably the first meal you’ve posted on here that I’ve thought no thanks mate will give that a miss in favour of the wife’s plain chicken salad. 😆Ha I’m currently on the part time job. Quite nice in a way seeing the money rolling in still but doing probably 20-25 hours max. Staff are still smashing it don’t ask me how but posting best turnover when compared to all years previous with me doing next to !!!!!! all. Few fee earners and a bit of management that’s my lot right now quite nice actually if I didn’t have the therapy. Idk not getting wired doing all nighters staring at spreadsheets thinking I’m being productive maybe this is the way forwards, take a page out your book and think about work a bit less.
My office is still open has been since last May for a few staff. Some have always done the hybrid half office half wfh thing so that’s nothing new to me. Same for me that’s what I’ve done for many years. Idk how others will navigate it. I have some staff who need to be office based and others who could be entirely wfh made it clear I don’t want that - it’s good to have some interaction and proper face to face contact with staff imo. I get the impression you’d happily full time wfh not really bothered about going back. Is the plan some hybrid set up or going back to office based full time?
Fantastic news re the van. Hopefully you’ll know for sure if you’re having it on Tuesday then.Anyway it’s Friday, get your work out of the way and you can get a beer. Fml I miss Friday drinks when I come on here lol get my head sorted and maybe can enjoy a drink or two again.3 -
I have set myself up for a much quieter work day today after the hectic three days this week. A nice steady day to ease into the weekend.
We will be going back to the office full time no half and half. To be honest I have quite enjoyed working from home. I have gained a couple of hours of my life back a day by not having to commute an hour in the morning and an hour to get home again after work. It will be a shock to the system going back but also working my usual hours again. I usually work 8.45am to 4.45pm but have shifted that to 7.30am to 4.00pm while I have been at home. It will seem like a long day that first day back in the office2 -
We've been told it will probably be autumn before we're physically back in the office. They're looking at moving back those who can't wfh or don't want to first probably in August followed by the rest of us in tranches. There are a few thousand of us though so it'll take time to get us all back. We now have it written into our contract that we can wfh at least 2 days a week if we want to, no one will be forced to though. I'm planning to wfh 3 days a week. Not looking forward to getting up at 5am to get there for 7 but I'm looking forward to seeing my workmates again and to being able to nip to a big Sainsburys in my lunch break as it's very close to where I work. We'll only get a few months back before we all move to our brand new office next year, only 10 minutes walk way from the current one, we're not going far.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)2

Another northerner delurking to say your pancake sounds lovely. 😋We often had pancakes with stew or corned beef hash in our home when we were kids & carried on into adulthood. Also like them with sweet filling. Pancakes are made of same ingredients as yorkshire puds. Always had gravy on our Yorkshires but my granny had hers with jam 😆 Sweet or savoury I think it’s down to personal taste.0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I don't think it will be valeted or serviced when we see it. It will be as they have taken it in part exchange we believe. Don't think they will have had time to get it up here and fettle it by Tuesday 🤔
We just need to be patient now. Its going to be a long weekend. I can tell 😃2 -

Have to say when we've traded our previous vans in we've always left them clean so they would be at least be viewable.

It will be a low spend day today. We need to get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Bacon and black pudding sandwich for breakfast and wagyu madras with rice, naan bread and sides for dinner. Think we will grab some lunch while we are out though today. I quite fancy a hot roast pork sandwich for lunch.
The other half has his first covid vaccination this morning.
We will take the dog out for a long walk today. Might go to the woods down the road if we are having roast pork sandwiches for lunch. The cafe there does a cracking one.
Not much else planned for today really. We will have our annual bet on the Grand National and watch that layer. We usually do alright with that and most years get at least our money back. We don't got mad. Only £6 of bets between us though.
I guess we will have a few beers watching films after that.3 -
It will be a no spends day today.
Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Full English breakfast this morning and roast pork and all the trimmings for dinner later.
Not got much planned for today. The other half was starting to feel very achy after his jab yesterday when we went to bed so a guess a lot will depend on how he feels today. He is still sound asleep. Will leave him be.
We will go out somewhere with the dog though, I'm sure of that.2 -
Hopefully, he’ll feel a lot better soon. Which jab did he have? I had flu like symptoms the day after my jab and felt hungover for a few days after that. I just kept myself topped up with painkillers.MFW 2022 #71 £4400/£44001
