By this time of year we usually have all of our holidays planned out and organised. Not got a thing sorted yet for this year. I have a week off work at the end of April and not a clue what we are doing.

Good luck to you in your MH quest, we used to caravan and loved it. I’m in south East, nearly on the corner, if you want any ideas of where to go this way, if you don’t know the area?
on another hand, you’ve been really supportive over a number of months on another thread and I always admire your reasoning, you must feel like not bothering!Carolbee4 -

I’m with those who say you should go for what you want. You obviously put lots of thought and research into your decisions. I’m planning on getting a van too but mine is more for practical reasons.2

It wont be a no spends day today. We have a big Asda delivery coming today and it is a big stock up shop so it's a pricey one!!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be from store. Breakfast was fruit loaf, the other half has taken his packed lunch to work, I am having some chicken and vegetables for mu lunch and dinner tonight is BBQ. We are having lamb chops, steak burger, cajun turkey and vegetable kebabs, salmon and corn on the cob.
Today's jobs include:- working from home
- load of washing (hung out to dry)
- cleaning the bathrooms
- preparing the BBQ
- walking the dog x 2
This has got us thinking though that we may hold out until later this summer and see if anything else like this does pop up. They lose so much money in the first couple of years. Still not 100% sure we are willing to lose so much money so quickly.
We spoke with the finance company yesterday and we are approved for the full £32k that we would need to borrow for a new van at the best rate that they offer. We don't think we are going to order new just yet though.2 -
Do they have demos? If so could get one of those also deals on new can negotiate don’t need to pay list. Possibly something to think about maybe you can pick interior finish of new one idk might be wrong no idea about buying a motor home and don’t want to get into looking into it tbt.2

Hi 👋 @RelievedSheff vam sound like such a great idea. We spent some time living in one in Oz and absolutely loved it. Our plan for early retirement is to buy one and jut spend ime driving round Europe :-) I'm actually more keen for a second hand one (1-3 years old) as ther have always been a fair few on the market (people who buy and don't like it!) but guessing that is less likely at the moment as people as holidaying in the UK so more likely to use them....plus I don't want to pay the VAT on a new one lol.
Whichever way you go, sure you will get fantastic use out of it, weekends and longer hols. Can't wait to hear more about it!Current mortgage (1 Jun 2022): £289,501 - originally £351,999 got to love London sized mortgages!
OP Goal 2022 = 3.75% in OPs: £6,975 / £13,200
Emergency Fund Target: 3 months saved ✅

How many people is that BBQ for lol? !!!
It smelt like a garage forecourt round here last night with everyone firing up the BBQs with whatever accelerant was to hand. We live on a hill and looking down you'd have sworn there was a fire somewhere.
Could you hire a motorhome for a couple of hols to keep you going until you find the perfect one? Am guessing they're a hot ticket this year. There are a couple of weeks a year when at least 3 near neighbours have one on the drive. Right opposite has one of the massive (American?) things that doesn't fit on the drive - that one's owned though. Not sure where it lives normally.2 -

It was the same here last night which made us decide to have a BBQ tonight. All we could smell was BBQ.
Trying to hire something at the moment be that a van, boat or holiday accommodation is a bit of a nightmare. Everything half decent has been booked already. Will keep looking for any cancellations or last minute bookings though.2
