One of the other half's works mates gave him the seeds. He said they are very hot and to be careful with them!!Sun_Addict said:Happy April! Rat Turd chillies 🤣 They sound lethal.2 -
Just been out to check for any signs of life and there is one lonely parsnip seedling and four or five beetroot seedlingslucielle said:Parsnips can take ages to germinate. I used to sow radishes over the top as these would be ready before the parsnips and you get an extra crop out of the same space

Perhaps they are not a lost cause after all.1 -
Well that has turned a good day sour.
Just had a call from the marina who have refused to release the boat to the transport guy until we pay £2% + VAT commission for selling the boat from our mooring
They sent an invoice based on what they say it would sell for which we have of course rejected.
This has really p****d me off this morning. All of the money they have had from us over the years and they just want to throw an extra charge in at the last minute. Of course the mooring contract says they can but this is the first that we have heard they want the commission since we sold the boat in February.
I have argued the price down to £400 + VAT which I have begrudgingly paid so that they will release the boat.1 -
What a p*** off. Did they leave it till the last minute so you were under pressure to pay. Would a complaint about the timing of the demand get you anywhere?2

I would be livid too, definitely complain. What a rip off 🤬I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

I have just sent them another email now asking them how they have concluded that we need to pay the commission.
The sale was carried out from our home and the bloke who has bought it has never been to the marina so I don't see how they can come to the conclusion that the sale was from the marina berth.
They are a bunch of con artists the lot of them. Some of the things they get away with at that place are beyond belief. I'm so glad that we are out of that place and that they will never get another penny of our money.2 -
To even out some of the bad news today I have just had the lovely lady on from the Halifax who dealt with our mortgage application to ask how things were progressing. While having a chat she managed to get the rate down a little as their mortgage rates have improved slightly since we first applied in January. Not only that she is looking into getting the property revalued for us due to house price rises in the last few months which should hopefully push us into a lower LTV bracket and reduce the rate further.2

Not all bad. Just been for a sit down in my quiet chair in the bedroom for a chill out and unwind. It's been a stressful day so far.Sun_Addict said:Sounds good 👍 Not all bad today after all.
This little collared dove decided to join me for five minutes.
