    @alt80 not rude at all.

    We will look into all the options for the remaining finance when we find the right van.

    We certainly won't be using dealer finance though. We know that much.

    @RelievedSheff Worth looking at the dealer options if similar rates to a car - pay 3.9% on the RR which I don’t think is too bad with the amount tbh.

    Motorhome and caravan dealers don't offer anything like 3.9% more like a flat rate of 8% which I think works out nearer 16% APR!

    Depending on the amount we need to borrow we may go down the personal loan route rather than a loan secured on the van.

    It will be a low spend day today. We need to get some fruit and vegetables from the farm shop. Nothing else though so that should be the limit of the spends.

    Breakfast and dinner will be from stores. Full English breakfast as its the weekend and dinner tonight is pasta bake and garlic bread.

    Not much planned for today other than a long walk with the dog. Will probably be watching films with a few beers later on.

    The other half is furloughed again next week so we need to find him a list of jobs to be getting on with.
  • Enjoy your weekend. Weather dreadful here so not stepping a  foot outside.

    Not got up to have a look out of the window yet but it is supposed to be dry and quite mild here although very cloudy.

    Have a nice weekend yourself.

    A personal loan will almost certainly be cheaper than the ones from dealers. We pay £155.90 a month for a loan of £10500 over 5 years and I can make overpayments on that as I want. (That was for a replacement conservatory as ours was falling down and leaked badly when it rained hard). I have paid of just over 2years of it in 14 months.

    Yes that's what we were thinking. Be nice to not have any finance secured on the van either in many ways.

    We will see nearer the time. Got a few months to go before we need to worry about that.

    Got a reminder from the lender that the 0% offer runs out on card 5 next month but there is not a lot we can do about it until after the remortgage goes through. So will be paying 19% on that for a few months!
