You'll find the motorhome a bit cheaper than keeping a boat! Will you be able to store it at home on the drive or will it have to go into storage somewhere? Much cheaper to keep at home if you can as if you can't use it for some reason you can just SORN it and not be paying road tax for it, even though you'll still need to keep it insured of course. Ours has been SORNed since October and quite wait to be able to get out and about again. Will be retaxed as soon as we are allowed out to play - can't wait!

Even with the cost of the finance for 3-4 years, the van will be considerably cheaper to keep and maintain than the boat.

I don't blame you for wobbling, I would too.
All the reasons for selling make perfect sense as does a new phase of exploring with a motorhome, but the heart isn't quite so logical.

You know it is logical then to get rid of the boat but as you have had it for a long time it obviously is a wrench. Is walking by the canal maybe bringing in a sense of nostalgia too? Must be tough but once you get the van and we can travel again hopefully it will soon be a pleasant and distant memory. Yes my car will go as well once we have bought the van or are in the process of doing so.
Have had that for 15 years as well!
It's all change this year.2 -
I think you will find the van much more versatile as you can go anywhere in it just not as relaxing to get where you are going. You could try doing what a lot of classic car owners do and only insure for the summer. I dont know if thats possible on a moho but may be worth looking at if you dont plan to use it in the colder months.

Too much risk of theft to not insure it!2 -
I can understand that. If things are locked up and tied down some b****** wil trty to steal or least damage it.

Only so much you can do of course and if they are determined to take it then they still will.2 -
