Tikka wraps sound on point. Last night of plain chicken salad tonight here then it’s the weekend and that cycle starts all over again - couple of nice meals planned so 5 days plain chicken salad next week too. Son and I going for Maccys lunch and I don’t even care ha.
Can you not have something other than chicken salad in the week?

I'm sure the wife can come up with something else that is healthy to eat? She has plenty of time to find something else and cook it. A healthy diet needs a variety of nutrients and chicken salad five days a week isn't going to give you that!

We would go mad eating the same stuff every day for a week. It just seems wrong.

@RelievedSheff she’s on the cutting mate, what happens when she’s on that and woe betide anyone has anything else to eat can’t even have a dressing haha. Doesn’t even need to cut actually feel like telling her to stop tbh. Been told to share a chicken select meal with son and have the carrot bag not the fries ha !!!!!! that I’m having a Big Mac lol. This is why I eat expensed Starbucks like a !!!!!! !!!!!! in the week I think.
  • Even if she is on a diet it is still possible to lose weight eating food other than chicken salad!

Tell her to get a grip and get some proper cooking done.

Just had the wife of the guy buying the boat contact me asking what size bedding to buy for it. Think she is a little excited about their new purchase :)

Has put my mind at ease a little bit in time for the weekend. Sounds like we should definitely be on for the sale to complete next week.

Sounds very promising indeed. It’s like when you’re selling your house and they come round to measure up for curtains 👍
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

Chicken salad for 5 out of 7 days?  Sorry but that sounds incredibly boring. How is your grocery bill so high when you don't seem to be living it up food wise?  Enjoy your Mac, or I expect your son will anyway.

@alt80 I absolutely agree with @RelievedSheff that you need some variety in your diet.  Like her I'd go insane eating the same thing 5 days a week, week in week out!  It's ridiculous.  I do Slimming World and got to target 10 years ago and have stayed there most of the time and don't think I've ever eaten chicken salad for lunch!  This week for example I'm cooking a chicken schnitzel for lunch one day and that is what I'd call "diet food"!  I'll a bit of salad with it but I'll also be having home made oven chips!

Things definitely sound that the boat sale will be happening for you.  Good luck with find the motorhome you want when the time comes.  Will you be able to save some more in your MH fund between now and then or is it just the boat money?  The more you can save the less you'll need to borrow of course.

Totally agree.  Tell her to check out Pinch of Nom books.  Loads of good low calorie meals in there.  That sounds incredibly controlling that you and son also have to cut back just because she is trying to lose weight. I am careful with what I eat as I want to stay at a healthy weight but don't expect my already thin DH to keep to the same although he does as otherwise he would have to do his own cooking LOL.  I don't restrict his snacks or anything else though and certainly would not stop him putting dressing on things just because I don't.

Exciting to get the boat money next week and hope you manage to find your van before we can all go travelling again.  I have a balance to pay on a holiday cottage next week so hoping Boris comes up with a plan next Monday. It has been rearranged once already as all our holidays from last year were.

We are in two minds what we want Boris to announce next week regarding Covid restrictions.

We have a holiday booked for Easter and we can't get a refund for it until the four weeks prior to departure which will be the 5th March. If he announces that holiday accommodation can reopen from Easter then we are scuppered and we will have to go on the holiday.

Ideally we would like to cancel the holiday and get the refund so that we can put the money to some good use at home instead. I can't see it being a great boating holiday when all of the riverside pubs will still have restrictions on service!

Sods law of course says that Boris will announce holidays can go ahead from Easter :)
