Quick update. Went shopping again at Lidl Carmarthen on Saturday. Again the coupons for the weekly offers scanned from the app but no £2 or £10 voucher, saved receipt or scratchcard. I asked the cashier (think he was the duty manager) and he said that the app was not fully working just in that particular shop and they were working on it. I said I had spent over £100 each week for the last four weeks in September so should be entitled to £12 off. He replied that when the problem is solved that the vouchers will be backdated. Let's hope so as are nearly into the next month! Have received yet another automated reply from customer services saying they will be in touch shortly - it's only been three weeks! I tried ringing them the other day and hung up after 55 minutes listening to recorded banjo music.
Sam, I had an issue when I first downloaded the app, I couldnt get the £5 off £25. I found that the Lidl UK FB page was very responsive, if you contact them vis messenger they usually get back to you pretty quickly, that way they extended the voucher a couple of times. it did disappear off the app eventually, but oddly the next time I shopped the voucher came off my shopping, even though it wasn't on my app to even try to activate. Its definitely worth contacting them.

I am a bit late to the show here so pardon me if I ask a silly question.
I don't have a smart phone and have no intention of getting one but I may be able to upgrade my tablet to a new one, will the Lidl app work on a tablet?
  • I have a different dilemma...........both myself and my husband do the weekly shop at Lidl. Not together though. Oe week he will go and another, I will do it. We both have the app and we do probably spend £200 per month between us.
As we are using apps on own phones we are not getting to the £10 off eligibility point. Would one of us be able to photograph the others app and use that?
    Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £60

My husband took a photo of my Lidl Plus Card from my phone app which he just scans when he shops.

Thanks for that......exactly what I was thinking. £10/12 off your shopping bill a month is not to be sniffed at. Its like 2 bottles of wine free!!

Kantankrus Mare, we are in a similar position. We do have a photo of the QR code, just in case the app doesnt open, but you can also have the same account on two phones, so it wouldnt matter whos phone you have with you when you shop at Lidl (Unless a household spent £400 a month, when it would be better to have two accounts!)
  • Update on my continuing saga with Lidl Plus. After not getting the £2 and £10 vouchers in September despite all the other vouchers including the initial £5 sign up voucher working, everything worked in the shop in October! All item discounts, stored receipts, scratchcards and the £2 and £10 vouchers. In November everything was fine and I qualified for both the £2 and £10 vouchers. I redeemed the £2 voucher and qualified for the £10 one on Saturday 21st November. The voucher is valid for seven days and I had previously redeemed them seven days from qualifying. I therefore decided to go shopping after work on Saturday 28th. On checking my phone on Saturday morning the voucher had been removed. It had been on the phone on the Friday 27th and stated it would expire on the 28th. I typed off an e-mail to customer services saying I had not had the full seven days to redeem it and on going to the shop in the evening found it was back on my phone. I did my shopping, used the app and on checking my receipt found all the other coupons had been applied except the £10 which was still showing as active and there was a message saying the voucher was not compatible with the items I had purchased. I had spent around £142 and had well over £10 spent on qualifying items eg. groceries. I spoke to the cashier and he said they had had at least seven similar occurrences that day. He called the manager who agreed that the voucher was valid but had not been applied and that my purchases did qualify. He was very apologetic but said he could not physically give me the £10 from the till which I understood and that I would need to contact customer services. I explained that I had done this several times regarding the October vouchers but no-one had contacted me apart from automated replies. I said I try once more and then be in touch with the new CEO as I was now down £22 in vouchers, several scratch cards from October and probably a couple of quid in item discounts when the app did not work at all in October.
I e-mailed customer services the next morning and received a reply asking me for my account number, e-mail etc - all information I had previously supplied. I sent a subsequent e-mail essentially telling "customer services" to get a grip and unless the matter was resolved by the end of the week (6th December) I would take the matter to their CEO.
It's lucky the brilliant staff in the shops are much more professional or Lidl would not be doing as well as they are.

How do you put the same account on two phones?

You just install the app, and then register/sign into the app on each phone with one lot of account details. The alternative is to have a screenshot of the QR code on the second phone, but that has its limitations as you might miss out on some of the other coupons if they havent been activated on the other phone.

Goodness me what a nightmare Samuel! They have had massive issues with the £10 coupons this weekend, so it's quite possible that they have a huge backlog of complaints to get through. I have found in the past that I've had mixed results getting a reply via their online 'contact us' form. I have had better results commenting on their FB page, they usually respond and ask you to message them with your details and they do get back to you (must be a different department covering their social media account than the general customer services perhaps?) I've also had good responses from calling, but imagine you are likely to have to hang on for quite a while!
