    Does anyone know how to scan the Lidl Plus Card at a self checkout? Tried yesterday to scan it with the normal scanner which scans the items as I didn't see another scanner like they have at the manned tills and it didn't work.

    No self checkouts at my local Lidl, so can't actually answer your question but it might be that you have to go through a manned till. I went yesterday, got the card up on my phone, handed phone to the cashier and she scanned it with no problem. The only thing I found a bit odd is that the receipt shows some money off each item and not £5 off at the bottom although it came to £5 off overall.

    Just to add my experience to the pile - I downloaded and registered Tuesday evening and similarly do not see the £5 off voucher in app. I've just tried activating the discount coupons and received the message "We couldn't deactivate this coupon" (though they do not appear to be activated - the app tells me I have "0 activated coupons"). Disappointing as I was planning to do my typical Aldi weekly shop at Lidl this week!
    I have the same. Did yours get resolved? Do you have it on an android device? I only ask as my husband registered at the same time as me on an iPhone and his works fine, while mine on Android has this issue.
  • Hi, I had similar problems in not having the £5 for £25 voucher displaying from my sign up on 11 August 2020. Finally, after several messages to Lidl Customer Services and an app version update it did display, but only then had 3 days left, I did email Lidl Customer Services who re-instated the date back to 14 days.
    However, there has also been another issue which Lidl seemed to have missed totally amongst all this..... I have been unable to activate any vouchers including the ones for say 15% off this selection of items and so on, so without being able to activate vouchers they cannot be added to the Lidl Plus card within the app and therefore cannot be used.  The message I get is actually 'We couldn't deactivate the coupon'.  DEactivate??!!  I am entirely unsure how this can even happen my voucher activations on my Lidl Plus Card page remains at 0 so.  From what I have read this issue with pressing the activate button appears to be happening to others also, but some depending on the phone may not be getting such error message as myself.  Hopefully, they will sort it all but very frustrating all round.

    It does say, if having app issues, don't worry, they are on it. Don't forget this is really a trial and official launch is 3rd September. Bit surprised they would even re-instate the date back to 14 days but I get your points that it is frustrating when you expect it to work and it doesn't.
  • I've had the same problem, downloaded, registered, verified, and guess what.. No £5 off voucher and all other vouchers 'Oops not available or expired'. Have raised with Lidl CS twice, and not resolved. This isn't store dependent on the app. Probably the first and last shop I'll do in Lidl. What I saved on the £50 shop to use a voucher that doesn't exist, I've lost 5x over in time! AND the £5 voucher!!
  • Hi, I can how activate ALL vouchers at least, there has been both an Android App update, plus a section that comes up on starting the app to agree and tick some t&c's.  All vouchers now activate and populate the count within the LIdl Plus card page, and therefore should be useable.  I think these technical issues have particularly affected Android users.  Lidl have extended my £5 off £25 voucher and so I would suggest if you previously could not activate it, and there is not the entire 14 day period that you would have expected so you could get to use the £5 off £25 voucher, at your own pace, that you contact Lidl Customer Services (after of course installing the latest app update today 29/08/20 and agreeing to the t&c's),by email on customer.services@lidl.co.uk and they should extend the £5 off £25 spend voucher to a clear 14 days from whichever day you are actually able to activate it (and therefore able to scan and use it in store) successfully using the app.
    When emailing to get the 14 days back from when you can actually activate and use the voucher they will need;

  • Today I went to Lidl in Bedminster to use my £5 off voucher from their new app. However when scanning it, the girl at the till said it didn't work, so tried it again. Still not working. When I got home I rang Lidl customer services, who phoned the store and found that the girl had done it wrong.  Lidl said it was nothing they could do about it as the staff was still learning about the app. So, as I was waiting before being put through to an agent, there was an automated message that kept repeating how Lidl does not compromise the customers. Well, I do feel compromised, since I went to Lidl especially today to spend more than £25 for the £5 voucher before the offer ends, and I said so to the agent, who refused to do anything about it. Lidl do get a grip please...

    Went to Lidl today, tried to activate one of the weekly coupons. Tried a few times, it kept saying 'we cannot activate this coupon'. The cashier even took my phone and tried herself but to no avail. Considering the app has now gone completely live, looks like there are still some problems.

    I'm going to Lidl today but don't know whether I can be bothered to use the app.
    They are clearly trying to encourage customer loyalty bu the irony is Lidl till staff scan the items as quickly as humanly possible but then you've got to mess about getting your phone out,bringing up the qr code and getting it scanned thus slowing down the whole checkout process.
    Given they often only have 1 checkout open at my local store I can see queues building up.I hate queues,it may force me to try Aldi again
