  • Could not find the optout button to not recevie calls texts or emails and within 2 mins of completing this serach I had a phone call not impressed, it should be automatically opted out unless your opt in not the other way round
  • I am trying to insure a Transit 350 Double cab for hire and reward insurance and having huge difficulty even getting a quote - this may be due to the number of seats in the vehicle? Has anyone had a similar experience and is there a way round this? Thanks.

Try a local broker (not Swinton)
  • looking for van insurance today, used go compare, confused, van insurer and money supermarket.
    - Go Compare wouldn't let me use the website without registering, or rather remembering the password from last time I used it.
    - Confused and Van Insurer had exactly the same form to fill in, and produced exactly the same results... suggest they are the same website.
    - Money Supermarket came up with an error screen, saying they could not give details at this time, but to contact them (us) at the given phone number, and with a given reference number. I called them and someone answered from Autonet. Seeing as Autonet is the one company I am trying to avoid due to their behaviour at last year's renewel, I ended that call.
However, I smell a huge rat here, starting to think these comparison websites aren't independent.

used a different email to access go compare, their results showed a few different policies to the other comparison sites, but all were about £22 more expensive. Do go compare get a £22 kick-back from successful enquiries/policies??

Every comparison site gets a "kick-back" if you go on to buy a policy from one of the companies on their site - but it is significantly more than £22. Usually between £60 - £90.
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.
  • Could anyone help me????

Im 18 years old and have just brought an Astravan as i am self employed and starting a business, but the problem i am having is that my insurance is going to be sky high! the cheapest quotes i have found are like £1600 +, could anyone possibly help me to even save a little bit off of that because lets face it, that is ridiculous money. anyone got any tips etc that could save me money????

    Which company quoted 1600?
  • We're retired and have a Transit Connect (swb) 2 seater van , no other car, and no business (we're retired). Trying the van insurance routes suggested they all seem to think you have to be in business and won't give us insurance to drive another car (not ours) should our vehicle need repairing (eg for mot repairs). Got policy last year with Aviva (suggested by MSE ) and they were happy to do this for a bit extra. Renewal is due now but can't find anywhere else in order to haggle.

We live in the Western Isles and don't exceed 8000 miles per annum and have 10 years NCD.

It's annoying to give all the details to the various companies via the various screenscrapers only to try the chat or an email and be told the same thing (it's a commercial policy and we don't offer this) especially when you tick the box for social and domestic only.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
