New Santander Zero CC Design

  • Ordered an additional card for the wife and this turned up.... mine is the old style with huge Santander across the top.

I know it's only a card but people like to discuss the look - thoughts on this then..?

Got one of these today as a replacement card and to be fair I do like the design. Doubt many of the new applicants will be able to experience the new design, as 99% of applicants will probably be declined at the moment.

Reminds me of a colour blind test.

Perhaps there's a hidden message amongst the dots.

The design of a card or its brand has never stopped me using one.
Having said that, I don't know what Santander were thinking when they approved this particular design. It's noticeable and distinctive yes, but it's also the ugliest looking card I have seen in a long time.

I don't care at all what cards look like, and certainly wouldn't include aesthetics as a factor when deciding which particular card(s) to apply for, or indeed use. That doesn't stop me having an opinion on the aesthetics of the card, though.
Anyway, I wish more cards were completely smooth, rather than embossed, as it would make my wallet significantly less bulky. I'm feeling slightly peeved that I've only just received a replacement for my expiring Zero card, and it's the old-fashined embossed design. I want a smooth one.

Ring them up and tell them it's damaged, -say the dog's chewed it or something, and they'll send you a new one.
You might be able to report it as damaged through the app.

On my Curve card, the name, long number and dates are printed on the reverse.  The days of taking a card imprint are well and truly over, which frees up the design opportunities of the card.
    Do you one better.
My curve card doesnt have numbers on it at all! none! Just my name.

  • I couldn't really care less what a card looks like. It could be sky blue pink with a yellow border as long as it functions properly.
What is this obsession with how your cards look like?

Eh, just discussion, not obsession. Are you telling me you don't care how anything looks in your life as long as it functions correctly? Your car? House? Clothes? Furniture?
    Dare I say .....Wife?

That last one is a trick question, there is no way of answering that one correctly. :)

Dude, chill out, no-one is stupid enough to think that a card's appearance affects its functionality. This is just a light-hearted thread where people can give their OPINIONS on the design of the new Zero card. I suggest you read the second paragraph of the very post in this thread:
"I know it's only a card but people like to discuss the look - thoughts on this then..?"
