New Santander Zero CC Design

Ordered an additional card for the wife and this turned up.... mine is the old style with huge Santander across the top.

I know it's only a card but people like to discuss the look - thoughts on this then..?

    Looks awful.

Like that paint they put on cars to hide the shapes etc. on them.

The old one is awful but yea, agree, this is just bonkers. I don't get the branding at all.

Maybe it's Ants car after he spills a pint on it....

I think it looks pretty cool.
  • Just hope this isn’t the beginning of an expensive rebranding exercise the bank can ill afford now that 1 2 3 is no longer relevant  :o

Looks like the pattern you scrape off with a coin to reveal your pin! Have you tried?

Where's the long card number and all that stuff, is it all under that wee bit of paper?

Its not a pretty design but at least you can still use the card... AmEx have introduced their new metal cards which look the business but the contactless seems to be much worse. Normal plastic card can hover above the terminal by a cm or two and it reads fine, new metal card has to make contact or there is no chance... for some reason the TFL readers on the tube and London buses are the worst for reading them.

I'll take function over design any time... though the metal card will make a great scraper when things get icy.

Is most of the detail (card number etc) on the back of the card?

On my Curve card, the name, long number and dates are printed on the reverse.  The days of taking a card imprint are well and truly over, which frees up the design opportunities of the card.

    Are they?!

I was in a restaurant last year and they had a power cut. They eventually brought out the old "click clack" machine to take an imprint. The funny thing being I had to show the waiter how to use it!
