Can you pick a second hand mirror up from 3bay and Mr Riot fit it? Potentially saved loads of money.
Manage frugality this month and it will set the baseline for the rest of the year 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Hope you had a good Christmas Riotlady and that you’re making baby steps towards the end of your course. Every hour of your wfh placement takes you that bit closer to the qualification“Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming” 🐠https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6098084/discount-duck-s-quest-for-mortgage-freedom#latest1

Car MOT today, thankfully passed with just a £10 bulb change needed, although I have a long list of advisories that will probably need some work in the next 6 months. They gave me a quote of £470 to replace my wing mirror so I’m sticking with the duct tape for now and my best friend’s husband (who is a Car Person, unlike me and riotdude!) is going to track me down a new one from a scrap yard when they open up again. I’ve said it before but I’m so lucky to live near to them again- it’s like having an extra sibling.£90 left in the grocery budget and I got a big morrisons order today so shouldn’t need to shop again for about a week
Uni is going well and I can see the end in sight for my research project! No word on my final placement yet but they’re looking for something I can do from home.
Overall things are ticking over nicelyI’m getting more in the swing of managing my energy levels, which means the house is messier than I would like but I’m getting uni work done at a reasonable pace, spending time with mini riot and not crashing out with exhaustion and pain at the end of the week. Oh and I started Weight Watchers a couple of weeks ago and I’m 5lbs down already!

Great news on the mot and weight loss 🤗
Dont worry about the housework it will get done at some point, better to spend your time with mini riot. These times that you can spend with them while they are young are priceless and irreplaceable unlike hoovering 😁0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

I got mine from 3bay, cost £18 and it was the same colour as the one I replaced 😊- had it been the electronic, not manual, mirror I could have got it cheaper!
It's a good budget you've got left.
I'm so pleased you're managing to balance some of your pressing priorities. Maybe when your course is over and you do settle into a routine, see if there's enough money to get a cleaner in once a week, or bi-weekly. Have you looked into PIP yet as that will be a huge help xMortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
You are coping so well. All of your jobs studying, managing the house looking after Mini Riot are so hard and you are doing it with aplomb. Your food budget is brilliant. Stay well.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222

Thanks everyone
Yes, @MovingForwards I had a look at the criteria for PIP and (fortunately, I suppose!) I can manage well enough that I wouldn’t qualify- I can dress myself, microwave a meal etc just not much else on top of that! I managed a little walk around the local streets with mini riot at the weekend which was lovely though. There is a chance that when student finance finally gets sorted out I *might* get some extra money though- we were the unluckiest year as everyone before and after us qualified for a bursary but we had to pay, however for those of us extending our courses they’re looking at pro rating some of the bursary for our remaining time. So that would be nice but won’t get my hopes up!Grocery budget is spent but we’re all stocked up for the rest of the week so that’s fine3 -
Another one in awe of your grocery budget!
I like the cleaner suggestion from MF for you (at some stage)If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

You've had a look at criteria and it's good to be aware of for the future.
Let's hope SF come through with something 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
I think because of your illness you might be able to apply for a wider range of scholarships from the university. I hope so.Aiming for a minimal spend 20221
