How strict are DHL with their maximum dimensions of 120x60x60cm? I've got a package to send which is about 150 x 70 x 10cm. Is it worth trying to send it with DHL?

Parcelforce's maximum size is 3 metres length and girth combined, with 1.5 metres for any single dimension. I don't really understand what "3 metres length and girth combined" means. Would the above dimensions fit into this category?

    Hiya All, please help.

I recently sent a printer with MH Direct couriers who use DHL, to send the item to the buyer and when the printer arrived, the printer was totally damaged and almost in pieces. Drop damage and also box was damaged as well

MH Direct Couriers claim that the item has £100 compensation but I just cannot get through to the company at all. I've emailed them on all the emails I could find for them and have not had a responce. Tried calling them on the number which I have but no answer. Number just keeps ringing and eventually cuts me off.

What now? How do I go about making a claim, the item is worth about £65. I've also tried to contact DHL and they say the claim must go through MH Direct Couriers

    Thanks

its a risk you take.if the driver collects it and then its oversized they will probably hold the item awaiting additional payment

Hiya All, I've just contacted DHL and have now also been told that MH Direct only have 14 days to make a claim. 7 days have passed and there is no contact. Looks like this company is not good to deal with. Would expert them to at least try and assist with a claim.

    Hi

From past experience with MH Direct, their communication is absolute sh*te... Tell them that you will involve the police, and see if that does anything....

If not, keep trying, they can't ignore you forever.

    Good Luck!

As both you and ritz55 are unable to contact MH direct it might be worth others not using this company until they get the all clear from successful collections. We have seen companies sink suddenly before, and whilst of course I am not saying that is what has happened here it might be worth noting for anyone reading this thread that there are some contact difficulties currently.

It would be useful if others have used MH Direct in the past few days, or have collections booked this week that they post their experience so we get an idea if there is a general problem or whether these two incidences are just co incidental.
