  • Ordered with Couriers Direct and received confirmation that pick would be from 0900-1800 today.Waited in all day and had no collection.
I have asked them not to rebook with that payment and will decide over the weekend if I a want to purchase again with them.
Will see how quick they refund now.
Surprised as their feedback is very good. But isn't that what happened to some other third party agents selling the same service

DH waited all day for a collection with Couriers Direct - it turned out that I had put in an incorrect postcode.
Once that was sorted it was collected very quickly - they were great about it, considering I created a bit of hassle for them.
    I`ll use them again.

The confirmed email has no errors.Collection shows for 15/2.
I wonder if a new driver has gone to the Flat 8 and not the house 8 in the same street.
Tried DHL Salfords(near Gatwick)so not that remote, most of the afternoon with no reply.Await reply from CD.

    Update
Advised by DHL driver on Monday that Salfords depot had a power failure on Friday delaying collections

    Hi Everyone.

This looks a good place to ask this question - does anyone know the best companies to send a box to Canada with???

I am looking for a quote, the box is around 60 x 60 x 70 cm and weighs approx 20kg.

I have never sent anything bulky overseas so any advice would be much appreciated - i suspect it will be far too expensive anyway!!

    Thanks
2011 wins so far: Radio Deal package worth £600 :)

    Best prizes ever:
Two flights to Tokyo & a years supply of Gas and Electric !!! :D
Thanks to everyone that posts!

thought i would post this here.
    Job Description

Do you want to be self-employed, running your own business? Do you have your own van? Can you produce a full driving licence with less than 6 penalty points?

Parcelforce Worldwide are now recruiting Owner Drivers. You will be self-employed, collecting and delivering parcels. Services are provided on a six-day week (Monday to Saturday). Your van will need Parcelforce livery.

Hours of Work : 6 days a week over Monday to Saturday

The actual amount you get paid for each parcel depends on the route and delivery time. Average on target earnings are in the region of £35-£40,000 per year.

At the end of each week we total the number of deliveries and collections you have done and produce an invoice for you – after checking and signing this is correct, payment is made into your bank account.

You should expect to arrange cover for the route when you take a holiday or you are sick.

Please note, once our maximum number of applications has been reached, this vacancy will be withdrawn.

just look at this and see how hard it is for some of these guys doing delivery/collections.
owner/drivers are how these courior companys cut costs and offer low prices.

i dont know who pays for the required PF livery
    6 day week
    no holiday pay
    no sick pay
you are expected to organise sick/holiday cover for your duty
bear in mind the earnings are minus tax,NI,van/fuel costs etc
    plus 'in the region' ;)

rumour is RM want to go the same route if they can

So thats in the region of £673.07 to £769.23 per week,
less costs which would be at least £500 pw as Diesel alone is at least £1.03 ppl without accounting for the actual Van costs & Business Insurance

well i'll trust your figures as i know little of that stuff
however i know its a bloody hard job and i often cringe when i hear drivers slated for non collection for example.
given the way they are paid they want ot get as many items as the possibly can given(so im informed) very tight schedules and large delivery/collection numbers

just thought i would post it to show the way the couriors can offer very low prices
  • Booked and paid for collection of parcel by CouriersDirect for yesterday. No collection was made, but gave them the benefit of the doubt and waited in again today, having been informed, by email, a collection would be made. Yet another no show, has anyone else had problems with them recently?? I used to use Payperdrop and never had a problem, this is my first time with CouriersDirect and will not be using them again.
