Any Recent Leeds Building Society applicants?

I’m assuming my application is with the underwriter at Leeds as I’ve just had some questions asked. They wanted to know about some regular payments (child maintenance and Christmas savings I send to my mum) and a lump sum that was deposited which was a refund for a cruise that was cancelled. Not sure what proof they will need or if they are happy to take my word for it. They also wanted to know if I had taken or plan to take any payment holidays on any of the debts we have.

@carlyfluck that was exactly the same as my questions last Friday (asked about payment holidays and then the standing order). They didn’t ask for proof of the finished standing order but I sent it anyway.

We will just have to wait and see what they say. I’m expecting another 9/10 day wait to reply to my answers.

Hi all, had the MA ring today. He said that all the searches have come back and are fine, also we passed the affordability. The only wait now is Leeds need another copy of some paperwork as when the MA sent it across some of the date is missing so need a better copy, he said he’s sent it off but Leeds will take around a week to look and agree it. Hoping this will be the beginning of the end now 🤞🏼🤞🏼. I’m ok with the waiting as our house isn’t going to be ready till November, the wife however hates not knowing.

That’s great. I’m hoping we are on the home stretch too after they asked the questions yesterday. Just have to sit tight and wait. I’m not sure if solicitors have started searches yet. I haven’t heard from them for about a week. We are all ready to go just wish we could get this mortgage over the line.

I’m confused: do the solicitor searches affect the mortgage offer?

No, I’ve paid the solicitor for the upfront fees for searches. Just unsure if they’ve started any yet or if they are still waiting for mortgage offer and contracts from the sellers solicitor

Ah, I was going to say as I know my solicitor didn’t start anything until last week as they had to wait for the contract pack from HA.

I think you are a week (of four working days) behind me lovely, as you submitted your app a week after and then had the same phone call I did a week after I did. I still haven’t heard anything this week (don’t think I will hear anything today) so I wouldn’t expect it today but hopefully it will be next week for both of us.

I really hope so. We have a few things we need to sort I’m out current property (refilling holes, changing light switches etc) and don’t want to start any of that until the mortgage is confirmed.

Hi All been reading the comments on here for a while and just wanted to say I'm in the same boat as most but its actually worse then I thought after speaking today to MA.
started In mid july 
 AIP accepted 
20/21/23 - full App
Heard nothing till last friday when I got asked if my partner had returned to work and to sign declaration. 
Valuation was booked in for 4th then got cancelled. Now the valuation has been re- scheduled for 5/09.
No questions asked since no update and just feels like everything is on pause.
MA has informed they wont view documents that I sent till next week and and Valuation report takes 7 days to come back and 2 days for offer. Soo looks like the proposed move in date for this month wont happen and will be more like end of September/october. I'm fine with that just the wait is killing me. 
Solicitor has completed searches etc.
