Possible £100 Halifax switch offer starting 4/8/20

This doesn’t sound right to me, maybe the front line staff didn’t know what to do so just suggested some story to fob you off. The offer terms did state that you would received the payment just before the switch completes or something like that (although some posters in this forum said that it went in a day or 2 after). But 30 days seems ridiculous. I cannot see why an already “credited” payment would show up to 30 days later...JoeyTee said:
I've never banked with Halifax before so nope. I had a chat with them on the phone last week and they confirmed I was eligible and that it said I was credited on the 26th August. Her manager said even though it says I was credited it can still take a lot longer and to contact them again once 30 days has passed. Strange! Hopefully gets sorted when I call again on the 21st.Ed-1 said:
Have you ever had a switch incentive from Halifax before?JoeyTee said:Anyone else still waiting for their switch reward? my switch started on the 21st August and completed on the 2nd September and I still haven't got the £100. They said I need to wait 30 days before asking for assistance with it, just curious if others are in the same boat...friends and family that did the switch were paid the £100 within days and they started theirs days after me.0 -
My switch incentive has been paid days ahead of schedule (switch is meant to complete on 16/9). Is it ok to downgrade my Ultimate Reward account to basic account now? Keen to avoid any fees!0

I'd wait if I were you, they seem to charge fees at month end. I got caught for about a fiver in fees on a new ultimate account but that appeared to be because I opened it in late august and downgraded a few days ago.granta said:My switch incentive has been paid days ahead of schedule (switch is meant to complete on 16/9). Oh no, that's unfortunate. I guess they are pro-rata charging and I could still be charged even if i downgrade/switch away next week. Though I have made a £500 debit card payment and wonder if I will receive £5 reward payment to compensate!bigadaj said:

I think so long as you downgrade before the end of the month you won't be charged anything. Mine is just winging it's way onto rbs for the potential bonus there.granta said:

Yeah I agree, something is not right but it felt awkward complaining about not receiving a free £100 on time 😊 I'm sure they will sort it eventually, if I find out the reason it was delayed/isn't going to be paid I'll post here.mab3000 said:

Got my £100 from Halifax after applying on the 7th with a switch on the 15th

I had an old account I switched from floating around to grab the bonus, as there are no direct debit requirements I’d like to switch this account to RBS then Lloyd’s... has anyone else just speed switched to grab the bonus or will that get picked up as abuse if it’s done too quick?
ive cycled £1500 through the Halifax just in case.
cheers
