Is the £5 reward net or gross?
There's a discussion about the tax status of the £5 reward in the £5 reward thread, see: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/77468599/#Comment_77468599

My switched dated to complete today, and I can see the funds have transferred over - no £100 though. Text to say the switch has completed but no confirmation/rejection of the switch offer with it...so maybe it'll turn up soon!

Anyone else, who already had a sole Rewards account and switched a third party account into a new Ultimate Reward account, get the option to downgrade the new Ultimate into a normal Reward account?

I thought this (two sole Reward) was a no, no.

I had more than 1 existing reward ac when switching into a new UR ... and didn't subsequently get that downgrade option, if that makes you feel more confident.

It’s against the terms to have 2 sole rewards unless you had them historically when it was allowed.

I had same circumstances as you, and “upgraded”’ my UR to an everyday account. I can’t remember if there was the option for another Reward account but wouldn’t have tried it anyway.

Well I had a basic bank account which had been downgraded from a reward account a few months ago.
I have just opened a second account 'reward' and moved an old bank account over and got my £100 the other day.
I have now upgraded my basic account also to a 'reward account' again.
So now I am getting my £5 a month on both accounts by putting in £1500 a month and spending £500 a month on my two debit cards.
All appears to be working and both accounts are tracking all be it a bit slow to update.
I choose the rooms that I live in with care,
The windows are small and the walls almost bare,
    There's only one bed and there's only one prayer;
I listen all night for your step on the stair.
  • Got my £100 switch bonus  B)
Had the bonus before and had an old Halifax current account but opening a 2nd account was super easy and switched an old co-op account which I don't use anymore

2 guys I know were asked by halifax to come to a branch with ID, even though they have both opened plenty of accounts online (with other banks) without trouble. And another friend was told that the decision whether to accept the application will be emailed to him within 3 days. Anyone else had trouble?

I opened a new reward account & then filled in the switch details. Had a text about the switch but nothing about the £100 for doing so. Does the system just automatically pick it up?
