  • You don't need to switch for that, downgrade to current account and have another donor account for a switch offer.

I've just opened an account this week and set up online banking. When does the 'month' run from? Is it 1-31st of each month or from date of opening account?
Do I need to pay in £1500 to avoid the fee and spend £500 on debit card to earn £5 bonus before 31st August?

The bonus has now shown on mine too.

Unusual for it to have a Saturday date on it (but dated the 17th also).

What date did you start the switching process?
  • £100 bonus received here as well  :)

Switch started 5th August, completed 14th August.

I thought the £5 had nothing to do with any account switching.

Here are the relevant terms of the offer:
So, on what date did you select your Reward Extras offer, and what was the balance of your account at the end of that day?
  • I just spoke to Halifax. Sorry if this has already been covered but
    1) The bonus is being paid within 7 days AFTER the switch is completed, not as it states on the main site as 7 days after you've started the switching process.
    2) It's a calendar month so if you opened the account with £5000 on August 2nd and kept it there until the end of August you are not entitled to the £5 reward.
