I only have a CC with Halifax now and even though I was logged in  when i applied, it asked me to set up new details for internet banking and now I have to wait for a code.
I was in the same position, I have a halifax clarity, if i was logged in when i applied, I got a generic error, so had to apply as a new customer, with new online login details. I am guessing they will merge the new online account to the old one, but maybe not.

I already have a Halifax current account. When I logon and go through the process to open a Reward account, after answering a few questions, I get to the stage where I tick the box to agree their T & Cs, and the next thing to do is to click on "Complete application".
I am reluctant to click on "Complete application" as I have not been asked yet if I want to switch from an old account into my new Reward account that I am about to open.
    What am I doing wrong?

Complete application to get accepted or not. If accepted you then get further questions, do you want an overdraft and do you want to switch an account to Halifax.
When I completed the long winded switch details it failed at the last page but the account was opened. I phoned the switch team next day and did it over the phone, 10 minute call, they advised about the £100 offer too.
Did you open 2nd reward account or Ultimate reward account?
Ultimate Reward. Switch team said the £100 will be paid into my new account anytime up to switch day but could be days before once switch is confirmed.  By switch day I should have my new account card and the dosh. The day after switch day I will use the online option to change my UR account to a bog standard current account thereby avoiding the £17 monthly fee I hope!
I mentioned this earlier in the thread: from the account t&c’s, it looks like you’ll be charged a proportion of the monthly fee for the amount of days in the month you have the account open.
Yes might cost me 9 days pro rate about £6 but also there’s a 14 day cooling off period so I wonder if I downgrade within that time won’t be charged.
I’m literally waiting on your outcome for this one as I’m planning the very same strategy.
I will let y’all know how I get on! One thing if/when you apply for UR if you tick you don’t want any of the insurances it rejects your application, as responsibly they deem you don’t need it or the fee!
Was it a BoS ac you discussed with the switching team?
No! Not prepared to grip that particular nettle!
Notice my Halifax UR  welcome pdf proclaims Provided by Bank of Scotland so if anyone has an account to donate /switch from another banking group I would use that account.

... both my online and App are showing all accounts including the Reward downgraded account for which i have already moved funds between the Reward and new Reward Extra accounts.
Awaiting new debit card for the new Reward Extra account, and £100.00?
    Will update of any changes.
Hi, How long did it take for the new account to show on your online banking. I only have a CC with Halifax now and even though I was logged in  when i applied, it asked me to set up new details for internet banking and now I have to wait for a code. I was also kicked out before I had chance to input the old account switch details, so did it afterwards.
All in all, I am not feeling optimistic about this right now :/

    Hi,
It was instant, there and then.

I had the same issue and phoned internet banking and they  merged both accounts. Said it would take a few days but was done within a hour.

So I just applied and started the switch.
Can anyone tell me, with the £5000 every day for £5 a month, should I deposit £5000 into the new account today to qualify? I assume that if I dont, I wont meet the criteria for this month.
I asked CS that when I spoke to them on the phone (regarding a login issue). CS didn't know the answer, consulted his colleagues, who also didn't know the answer. It was suggested I send a secure message!

I funded £5000 minutes after the application succeeded, just in case! A bit nervous about that as I had no way at first of checking it had gone to the right account, but was told it had gone in on day 1 when I phoned CS 2 days later about the login issue. So I didn't need to send secure message but will see if I get £5 in the middle of September!

Anyone still getting errors trying to switch? Always fails when I click confirm with the “something went wrong”

Yes, I got this error yesterday when applying using Firefox browser with adblockers turned off. Tried Chrome this morning, application submitted and accepted within circa 2 minutes. Emails/text messages confirming came pinging back almost instantly!

Christ this forum software is awful. Anyway, thanks for your reply, I think it's kinda worth it, at roughly 1% AER for the 12 months.

    So then the statement:
"You won't qualify for the Switching offer if you:
    • are switching to a Basic Account, a Student Account or a Youth Account.
    • are a Bank of Scotland bank account customer switching to Halifax."
relates to the switching service only, and rather than not qualifying for the £100 offer, it's that a BOS bank account cannot be switched at all using the switching service according to that term?
The box containing those terms ends with "For more information about our switching offer, please read our Terms and conditions", with the Terms and conditions link going to the T&Cs of the £100 offer. So it's very inconsistent use of the term "Switching offer".
Even more confusing given I've received a SMS message yesterday for my switch from BOS stating "We confirm your switch will complete on 13/08/2020..."
I received my activation code this morning and logged in. To my surprise, the switch from my BOS account had already taken place. Also, my BOS account number & sort code have been transferred over to the Halifax account. Even the BOS name & logo also appear on the new Halifax account details.

No £100 switch has been paid yet, so I very much doubt that any of us chopping in our BOS accounts will receive the switching bonus  :'(.

I have now logged in via Halifax's app, and both my Bank Of Scotland and Halifax accounts appear separately. So I do have a new sort code and account number from the Halifax. All my previous transactions from BOS haven't transferred over yet it seems.

Their online banking portal gave me a very different impression to the details that appear on the app.

I think you should deposit the £5K on the day you add Reward Extras to your account. They may or may not be lenient in the first month. You'd have to ask them.
