BTW, where can you get £90 cashback? I have not been able to get more than £50 for ages now.0 -
From what I can see, one can open a Monzo or Starling current account, switch it to Halifax Reward as soon as possible, and before the Incentive expiry date; receive the £100 incentive; and then immediately close the Reward Account, taking the £100 with you, (Halifax confirmed this to me via Facebook), if you don't actually want the account.
That sounds like an easy ton to me.0 -

If the cash back did count, then it would make it so much easier, as I'm not really spending much on fuel/cafes these days with wfh!0 -

Apologies if this has been previously mentioned....
Been pondering this for a few days and May have come up with a solution for the Switch offer for those with multiple (2 or 3) Reward Extra accounts, follow the below steps:
1) Downgrade a Reward Extra to Reward Current
2) Open a new Reward Extra and follow the prompts which includes the option for switching into the new Rewards Extra account
3) You will then be sent a text with your switch progress if you ticked the box for this option
Worked for me, hopefully, the offer should be in the account on 17th August.
Hope thie above helps.

You’d have to downgrade your reward account to an everyday account so you can open a new reward account. But that’s only if Halifax physically prevent you from opening a 3rd/4th reward account etc on their systems. If they would allow it but flag up in 2 weeks time that you shouldn’t have it, by which point you’ll already have switched in and got the £100, it doesn’t really matter does it.0 -
I already have a Halifax current account. When I logon and go through the process to open a Reward account, after answering a few questions, I get to the stage where I tick the box to agree their T & Cs, and the next thing to do is to click on "Complete application".I am reluctant to click on "Complete application" as I have not been asked yet if I want to switch from an old account into my new Reward account that I am about to open. What am I doing wrong?

When I completed the long winded switch details it failed at the last page but the account was opened. I phoned the switch team next day and did it over the phone, 10 minute call, they advised about the £100 offer too.2
