Spain added back to 14 day UK "quarantine" list

The whole thing is a shambles. Why have they excluded the islands from the FCO advice yet telling everyone coming in from the islands that they have to quarantine anyway?
Going to lead to some very fun threads on here if the last 4 months are anything to go by.1 -
Does this increase the likelihood of airlines cancelling flights between the UK and Spain?0

Its only just been announced, so no idea. But I would suggest the likes of Easyjet and Ryanair are less likely to than Jet2 and TUI, because of the nature of the passengers they usually carry to Spain this time of year.jd87 said:Does this increase the likelihood of airlines cancelling flights between the UK and Spain?
Indeed, I see Easyjet have said they will continue a "full schedule"0 -
Aside from having to quarantine the obvious risk here is that you are at increased risk of catching COVID whilst in Spain. Then after being exposed to it you sit in a sardine can and infect 300 other people with it. Some of those people will be seriously ill, or worse.

Well, not quite, given some areas of Spain have miniscule rates and some areas of the UK have higher rates.Aside from having to quarantine the obvious risk here is that you are at increased risk of catching COVID whilst in Spain.
I would suggest you are more at risk going to Leicester and Blackburn currently than Las Palmas and Benidorm.3 -
What a shambles this government are!
You can travel to the Canary and Balearic Islands but have to isolate for 14 days on return. Flights won't be cancelled so those who can't self isolate will have to cancel without refund. Whereas mainland Spain flight will now be cancelled...

That last line wont be true at all, plenty of airlines will still be flying to mainland Spain.cookster said:What a shambles this government are!

I agree its a shambles though, the FCO advice should mirror the quarantine regs.0 -
I'd wager a lot of flights to mainland Spain will be cancelled due to low occupancy.bradders1983 said:

A lot, but certainly not all.0

No, you either go and quarantine or forfeit the cost of the flights.ascok said:Where do we stand if we have checked in online for our flights for next month (easyJet) but we can’t isolate as we now have to, can we get a flight refund does anyone know ?
It’s not Jet2’s problem1
