    How’s everyone getting on?!
Please tell me I’m not the only one constantly checking their phones for some updates 😂🤞🏻
Almost threw my phone across the room the other day when I heard the text alert and saw it was from Papa Johns and not NW

  • Hi,
Sorry for jumping on the bandwagon here but i'm having the same waiting issues and with my broker. I had a potential issue re my credit report as I have everything registered at my parents address so in order to obtain my credit score (which is rated as excellent) I need to use this address. All explained to my broker who said it should be fine but when the DIP was submitted it said it would need to be referred. Again told not to worry and that he would explain the situation. Now i'm over three weeks from the application and all information going in and i've just been informed that the valuation has been rescheduled for a date almost two weeks later.
    Two questions:
    1) i know they book in the valuation as the application goes in but can i assume they have at least checked the information i have provided and so the address shouldn't pose an issue? Everything else looks fine in terms of affordability, LTV and don't have any outstanding lines of credit.
    2) Should I be concerned about the valuation rescheduling? I guess in line with the above? Or is it just a case of them being busy (which was explained to me at the start of the process) or access issues with the seller?
    Would appreciate any advice!
    Cheers,
    Dave
There is no rhyme or reason to their timeline and the order in which they do things, from what I can tell from reading this forum. For example, I only had my valuation booked after they had done all their initial underwriting and were satisfied with our income whereas others have had their valuations booked the day after submitting an application.
  • I just heard back from my MB:
"I have spoken to NW today and your application is still sitting in final checks which will be picked up by the underwriter latest Tuesday of next week"
If they take until Tuesday to get back to me, that will be working day number 33. So much for their ~20 day turnaround for a decision.

How long have people generally been waiting for the valuation report to be approved. Also will nationwide inform us of how much the property has been valued at or will it be a simple yes/no.

We’ve been following this thread for the past month and finally have our mortgage offer from Nationwide so thought I’d add our timeline:

Viewed and submitted offer - 20th July
AIP applied for and soft search - 24 July
AIP issued via broker - 24th July
Full mortgage application submitted - 28th July
Extra payslip provided to broker - 3 August
Confirmation of mortgage approved subject to valuation - 19th August
Physical valuation took place - 20th August
Valuation report received confirmation - 26th August
Confirmation of mortgage offer issued - 26th August

Our broker had to escalate our application to the BDM and chase on several occasions but all in it has taken 21 working days from application to offer but it has felt like the longest time ever. Just to add, we are FTB, both in full time employment with neither of our jobs being affected by COVID (very lucky!)
