Hi all, thought I'd join in. We previously had an offer from NatWest but withdrew from that property due to a range of issues. New timeline is:

8 Aug - offer accepted on new, slightly more expensive (but bigger and nicer) house
8 - 14 Aug - lots of faffing with NatWest, who ultimately advise us that they aren't able to transfer our existing product as the property value is higher.
17 Aug - new application (90% LTV) with Nationwide
18 Aug - text to say valuation booked for 25 Aug
25 Aug - valuation completed and text to say report has been received.

Sitting tight now waiting for the next stage. Wishing everyone luck

  • I’ve phoned today on working day 10 as we already have our mortgage with them and we are porting. They told me they had requested documents and info on Saturday from my broker. He’s had nothing. So anyway, we’ve sent those in (business bank accounts, proof of SEISS and recent earnings showing recovery, an explanation of how COVID affected the business)

Interestingly they told me that a valuation will not be instructed until we have completely passed due to my husbands self employment. Can only assume they don’t want to outlay the fee for us to be declined.

Anyway, we are back in the queue now for 10 working days, to have the new documents looked at. And then valuation to be instructed, I don’t think I’ll be sneaking this second offer in before exchange!!

Anyone submitted a mortgage offer extension application recently and know the timescale of nationwide getting back to you? Mortgage offer was issued precovid and we was due to complete on a new build HTB scheme in July, one of us has been on furlough due to covid and now the offer runs out September but the house isn’t ready til November now

I didn't hear anything until working day 15 when they asked questions about my employment and commute, I'd guess they're doing the underwriting up front with your case (same as mine). Your broker (if you used one) should be able to see if you're in the underwriting queue though.
Working day 23 here and still no decision. Getting more and more stressed as the days go on, had to go out and buy Bonjela for a newly formed mouth ulcer the other day 🙃
