Updating in case helpful for others:
Application via broker 26/9 (text confirmation same day)
Hard credit check 26/9
Valuation booked 2/10 for same day - text at 13.30
Valuation received and offer made also 2/10 - text at 15.30
Unbelievably fast! I was only asked for one payslip through the whole process.0 -
Just to update also - similar experience;
- Application via broker - 26/09
- Valuation booked same day for 29/09 also one question about pension answered
- Valuation received and offer made at same time 04/10
(7 working days)
Really good experience - defo worth considering nationwide, possibly the easiest application process I have ever had (so far anyway)0 -
Thought I would add in here too, quite nervous!
Wed 04/10 - DIP Approved
Wed 04/10 - Application put in midday
Wed 04/10 - Application text by Nationwide
Wed 04/10 - Valuation text 13.56, booked for same day
Thurs 05/10 - Hard Credit Checks with Credit Karma & Clear Score
Nothing since 😢 keeping my fingers crossed.0 -
To update this, I rang nationwide yesterday (10/10/23) for an update. They said they had the report back on Wed 4th so it should have been looked at by latest Friday 6th, so they will escalate it and I should hear something within 1 working day.zobo1993 said:Thought I would add in here too, quite nervous!

I then received two texts at 8.31am today (11/10/23) to say our valuation has been received and our mortgage has been approved!! 🥂🎉
Don't be afraid to give them a call!!0 -
How different is the actual amount they let you borrow when compared to the decision in principle?0

I think a DiP is the most they will offer you- we were offered around 250/260 and ended up borrowing 179 as the purchase price was 190 and we had 11 in our deposit.theonenonly said:How different is the actual amount they let you borrow when compared to the decision in principle?
I am not sure if we would have gotten the full 260 if we applied for it as it was at the top of our budget0 -
