  • We received our mortgage offer this morning in the post.

Interesting observation - our offer is subject to us clearing our MBNA credit card with a balance of approximately £8200.

Our current balance on that card is £0. The credit limit is £8200. No doubt this will turn into some kind of drama having read some of the comments on here.
You can't make it up can you! And these people are trained to do the underwriting job 🙄. Did it mention anything about that in the offer letter you got from your broker , if you used one?
    My timeline is as follows:
    26/4 DIP referred
    27/4 DIP accepted
    10/5 Offer accepted on property
10/5 Full application done, April payslip requested
10/5 Hard search done - clearscore
11/5 Instructed solicitor and paid money onto account
11/5 Text to say valuation booked for 12/5
18/5 Broker emailed to say property down valued by 10k.
    18/5 Vendor accepted 10k reduction
18/5 Application resubmitted with amended figures.
23/5 Two texts together to say valuation received and being assessed and valuation accepted.
23/5 Subsequent soft search appears on clearscore
24/5 Broker requested bank statements for lender of deposit accounts and full statements for second bank account.
27/5 I rang NW myself for an update. Next update due on 13/6
28/5 Hard search appeared on credit karma and clearscore
    9/6 Mortgage offer received
9/6 Instructed solicitor again now that offer received
13/6 Mortgage paperwork received in post
5/7/22 Contract papers received from sellers solicitor to my solicitor(seller delayed this due to not filling out initial paperwork straight away).
    5/7/22 Searches have began.
25/7/22 Received title report and searches back
5/9/22 Contracts signed and returned in readiness for exchange

We didn’t use a broker. Just done it ourselves as we were already with Nationwide and wanted to port across our existing mortgage to the new purchase.

Morning all, what a journey, eh?
We are struggling with the ridiculous turn around times, posting our timeline in case it helps others.

04/05 - Mortgage application submitted and received - we did it ourselves, online.
    04/05 - Documents supplied
    05/05 - Valuation booked for 10/05
    11/05 - Valuation report accepted
11/05 - Valuation approved and comment added that there is no need to bring in a professional to look at the trees (comment on the Home Buyers Report)
11/05 - Required sort code information from Skipton
11/05 - Replied to inform them that Skipton don't have sort codes as they're a building society (just like NW). Resubmitted LISA statements
22/05 - Request for us to confirm why the statements had more money in them. Replied to tell them it's because we had added more money in them.
24/05 - Called and asked them to escalate as it was going round in circles
25/05 - Case escalated and financials approved. Passed back into the queue for someone to approve the valuation (again apparently)
31/05 - Called for an update. Informed that we should hear back on or before 10/06

And then it was now. Eagerly awaiting a notification. From what I can gather, we are waiting for someone to tick a couple of boxes and send out the offer, but I'm waiting for something else to go wrong!

Worried about becoming the blocker in the process, hopefully will hear today.
    Update:
10/06 - I called to confirm they are not waiting for anything further from us. Told the deadline for an update is 16/05 now.
    Update:
13/06 - Mortgage offer text and email received at 08:54

    Annnnnnnnddddd relax.

  • Mortgage offer!! Was not expecting that today

    So final timeline:

    DIP: 9/5
    Offer accepted: 9/5
    Full application: 23/5
    Latest payslips requested: 23/5
    Valuation booked: 23/5
    Valuation report received: 23/5
Hard credit search (clearscore/credit karma): 5/6
Update from adviser via email: 4/6 - still not processed
Rang NW - still not processed but they have deadline of 15/6 to do something
    Mortgage offer issued: 13/6

The thing I was worrying about was the valuation and it hasn't even been mentioned, so must be absolutely fine. They never ever requested anymore info either.

Hope everyone else waiting for offers gets there's soon
