I think it’s usually around 10% of the sale price. We are in the same position with our vendor and have a very slow application with NatWest.

10% is a lot!! That will be over £35,000 judging by the sale price 😳 I was maybe thinking £1000

No, and they usually expect completion within 28 days. It completely puts me off a new build!

Ignore me… I think it’s actually 1%z… I’ll keep quiet and wait for someone with actual facts to enlighten us ☺️

My MB emailed this morning explaining our delay is due to an admin error with nationwide! They are apparently aware of this now so sorting it asap. (Probably means another 12 days) 🤣.
  • Glad to see some offers finally being issued, gutted about those of you still waiting or getting a rejection. It fills me with dread really as we're now entering week 10 since we originally submitted our application.

We last engaged with NW 12 days ago, when they asked for yet another proof of deposit after we had to tweak the application due to property down valuation and price renegotiation. We reached out to our MB to get any sort of updates and currently waiting for an answer.

Luckily we're not in a chain and the seller is still chilled - for now.

@hanmoe how far in are you? How frustrating, I hope things start moving quickly for you now

    @flamboyant_dude week 10 😱😱😱

This is my timeline so far. I’m trying to be chill, but it’s not happening 😅
    17/05 AIP
    19/05 full application
25/05 surveyor came to value the house
26/05 text to say they received valuation report
    31/05 hard search on ClearScore
13/06 request for statements for an account they already had statements for
    Debt was £15,903 😬 Now £2718.14 £0 😲🥳

Application was submitted on 12/05 so been quite a while! They requested more documents on the 30/05. The admin error is apparently to do with the valuation. Hoping now it’s been noted, we won’t be waiting too long!
  • Update: broker said not to expect anything until 23/06. Nationwide's waiting times are getting worse. 😱

It’s crazy isn’t it. We got told 29/06 last week to process an answer on our proof of deposit that would take someone 2 minutes to look at but I feel fairly sure they’ll just ask another question and kick us back to the bottom of the pile.

Glad some people have had their offers through anyway.
