    Hi everyone thought i'd join the thread.

    Me and my boyfriend are FTB with 5% deposit. Here is our timeline so far

    • 23/02 - MB submitted mortgage application
    • 23/02 - text confirmation of application received
    • 23/02 - text to say valuation book for 25th feb
    • 25/02 - text to say valuation had been received
    • 27/02 - soft check done on Equifax
    • 01/03 - MB emailed to say they had asked for up to date bank statement to show my deposit but don't get that till march 8th - MB said to email over screenshots of the account - so sent those over
    So now just waiting to hear back. Don't know if it's good news or not. My last statement for the deposit only shows £3k but a week later i put money in and it went to £8k but it won't show until the March statement. I am assuming they asked for it just to double check my proof of deposit. Anyone else had anything similar?

    Hoping we will find out soon because the solicitors have done half of the paperwork already so literally just waiting on the mortgage offer and then i can get a survey done. 

    Also worrying about the application as i start a new job on March 14th but my MB didn't think it would be a problem but i provided my offer letter and new work contract just incase so worried that may slow it down.

    Hi all, 

    does anyone know how long NW take to review documents? We have one final doc that’s needs reviewing before they can offer us the mortgage and I’m wondering how long we may be waiting for this. I’m an anxious wreck!!

    I think it's currently 3 working days. That's from the intermediary website which was updated yesterday.

    Thank you! Hopefully we hear something soon. Feeling a little hopeless at the moment as it just feels like this never-ending waiting game.

    Chuffin' hell. This has got to be record time!!

    17/2 Viewed property, offer accepted.
    19/2  DIP refused, reviewed and eventually agreed.

    1/3 Full application using lower deposit than on DIP
    2/3 Valuation done
    3/3 Mortgage offer!!

    Can't believe it. Boyfriend just got email and I've done a happy dance round my kitchen.

    Incidental info which may or may not be relevant....
    Location: North West (might affect surveyor preference to do desktop valuation)
    LTV: 77%
    Age: 49, mortgage taken over 22 years so will extend into retirement.
    Previous Nationwide mortgage but currently in rented.

    Fingers crossed for everyone else waiting! xx
  • Joining the circle. 5 working days from completion, everything done but buyer’s solicitor has noticed Nationwide have put the wrong lease length on their mortgage offer (85 when it should be 120).

    This was raised last Thursday, still waiting to hear back. Agonising as we’re cutting it so close to mortgage expiry dates etc. 
    Still waiting on this, 5 working days since submitting for a small alteration. If we don’t hear back by Monday morning latest my chain collapses & my buyer risks being homeless as she’s already given her notice in. 
    Still waiting. My mortgage offer has now timed out and I'm having to reapply. It has been escalated a number of times and it's still being passed back and forth between Nationwide's departments. I was supposed to have moved in last Wednesday, now it looks like the chain is going to collapse unless Nationwide respond positively in the next few days. I'm at a loss at this broken, broken system that we all have to go through to move house.
    Absolutely stunned to say that Nationwide have come back and have agreed to go ahead with my buyer's mortgage offer. Full steam ahead!

    I can believe it, apparently we are 38% of the way through the sale already
    Total debt when my journey began in December 2022- £66,133.42
    Current debt May 2024- £40,064.57
    Repaid 39.42%

    Wow!!! That’s incredible! We’re still waiting nearly 6 weeks on. Losing hope now

    Got our mortgage offer from Nationwide, timelines as below. 


    10/02 application submitted 

    10/02 received text saying valuation has been booked in for 16/02

    16/02 received text saying valuation has been booked in for 24/02 (estate agent told us surveyor rang pushing the appointment back as he got COVID)

    24/02 received email saying valuation has been received

    04/03 mortgage offer issued 


    We’re in Zone 2 London and I was surprised how long it took to get a valuation booked in.  

    I found the process quite slow to be honest, we went through the mortgage application process previously a year ago but with Natwest which took 6 days (which included a weekend) from application to offer.
