Has anyone else had another soft search carried out after their hard search? We had our hard searches on 1/2 but have just had an update from Credit Karma that a soft search was carried out on us both on the 8th. Seems strange after our hard searches have already been done!
  • Afternoon all,
A very helpful forum and good to share the excited nervousness!
Our mortgage advisor informed us what we could go out and afford to shop for. So we did. We found our dream home.
We had our offer accepted on 29/01. And we accepted a cash buyer offer on the same day. Our seller is moving to rented so our chain is small thankfully. On to mortgage ....
    04/02: DIP approved
04/02: Application submitted and received with Nationwide
07/02: Memorandum of Sale requested for our property and payslips
08/02: Text to say valuation booked for 10/02
10/02: Text to say valuation report received

Our credit rating is either good or excellent. Depending on what provider you use (Experian / Equifax etc)
We have some debt but not much and we are looking to pay that off with the mortgage. We are going for a 60% LTV mortgage and our mortgage advisor is telling us that all will be fine.
But I can't get excited until I have that offer in my hands!

The nerves are real, the wait is real! :)

I’m sure your offer will soon follow, I rung up there and got the offer info emailed. All in order.

Is the emailed offer sufficient or there is something more to follow in the post? I am just wondering what I need to be doing to formally accept the offer and the email I have doesn't really say anything.

Received my offer in the post 2 days after my email version, it’s exactly the same bar the covering letter that comes with it.  You don’t need to do anything - your Solicitor gets you to sign the paperwork to accept the mortgage and confirm it I believe.

Thanks, will chase the solicitor now to see if they have had something!

Not from what I can see, I think it is all up to the solicitor now to request the transfer of funds etc
