  • The MA at Nationwide did say that he reckons ours was a straightforward case because both of us were in continuous employment and I think that also implies that self-employment requires more evidence and takes just a bit more time. Fingers crossed for you, I am sure it will go well! (I know the waiting game is terrible!!)

    I just got this email

We're delighted to let you know we've issued a mortgage offer which will be posted out to you shortly. Please make sure you read the offer carefully.”

Does this mean they are willing to lend us what we asked for, on the term we wanted?

I daren’t get too excited because this mortgage was a massive stretch on what I thought we would be able to borrow.

If it was a different amount or term / material difference, they would have very likely told you / asked what you want to do first.

I would assume offer matches what you required/requested

    Congrats 🎉
Guess who has just ordered pizza to celebrate! I am chuffed to bits, now just need vendors/chain to get a wiggle on :)

Joining this! Just application submitted yesterday!
  • Hi all! Currently awaiting offer, FTB, price £245k, £115k deposit.

    Timeline so far here:
    • Offer accepted: 18/1
    • Initial conversation with broker (L&C) 19/1
    • Finalised choice of mortgage 20/1
    • Request for 1 payslip and proof of deposit submitted 21/1
    • Confirmed application received by Nationwide 24/1
    • Soft search appeared (CreditKarma) 24/1
The vendor's agent said my lender's surveyor carried out a survey on 26/1 but I've not heard anything about that from Nationwide or L&C - has anybody else experienced same? Seems like most people get a text about it. I have ordered my own survey but they were supposed to be there on 24th.

    Text to confirm offer issued!

    Full timeline:
    • Offer accepted: 18/1
    • Initial conversation with broker (L&C) 19/1
    • Finalised choice of mortgage 20/1
    • Request for 1 payslip and proof of deposit submitted 21/1
    • Confirmed application received by Nationwide 24/1
    • Soft search appeared (CreditKarma) 24/1
    • Hard search appeared (CreditKarma, Clearscore) 29/1
    • Request for additional documents for proof of deposit (bank statements weren't full statements) 31/1
    • Text to confirm valuation report received 1/2 (Never got a text saying this had been booked in, weirdly)
    • Text to confirm offer issued: 10/2
    Pretty speedy all-in-all!

  • FTB, mortgage of £139,000 with 21% deposit.

7/2 Habito submitted application, notification from Nationwide to say received and valuation booked for 8/2?!
    8/2 Valuation
10/2 Valuation report text, then mortgage offer issued text.

Seems a bit too quick but not complaining! Wait and see when it arrives anyway

Got my offer this morning at 07.30am.

Very quick, also FTB borrowing £139k, 21% deposit. I just went direct and had an advisor from Nationwide apply as part of the application.

    Timeline below

4/02/22 Application through Nationwide advisor appt
08/02/22 Text to say valuation booked for 10/02/2022

10/02/2022 at 07.30 am text to say received valuation followed by text to confirm mortgage offer straightaway.

    Emails also received.

    4 working days in total.

only asked for 3 payslips and gifted deposit letter at the appointment. Good luck to everybody still waiting
  • Been a week, I haven't received the offer in post. I did get it by email though. Should I be doing something to chase this or just wait few more days?

I’m on hold now to ask for it to be emailed, my post is really slow. Did they just email it to you automatically ?

No, my (very nice) advisor at nationwide sent it to me when I asked him about it. But he also said I should expect it in post soon. And I believe it will also be posted to the solicitors?
