@JRSKR that’s annoying. I’m going to ring shortly, tend to get better answers when you ring so fingers crossed.. was there any different circumstances on your valuation which means they need to fully read it?
Yeah I notice on live chat they give you random times but over the phone they’re much friendlier. I’ll let you know what they say when I call...

@Mgars93 Well they said on chat that there was a “remedial damp” issue but that it doesn’t alter the value of the property. Not sure if that means it gets put into a different queue for more thorough checks. We’ll try calling. 🙂

@JRSKR I’ve just rang as well and said it’s with the under writers and should hear back by COP tomorrow. Everything else has passed just pending this. It’s a new build which is still being built so shouldn’t be any issues hopefully! I’ll post again if and when I hear something 😊

@Mgars93 I’ll post too. Fingers crossed for both of us!
  • Hi we are applying to nationwide as FTB but we are so nervous!! No valuation booked but it’s been instructed- does anyone know why they wouldn’t have contacted countrywide when they have said they already instructed a valuation?

    13/01- submitted application DIP
13/01- submitted full mortgage application - txt from NW to confirm received
    14/01- uploaded final document
15/01- passed initial assessment but documents need to processed
    18/01- underwriting successful email
    18/01- valuation instructed at 12.23pm

Also told today for the first time our DIP was referred made us panic even more!!!

but no valuation booked as yet- desperate to know when this will be booked in.
    Thanks

@firsttimebuyer20202021 - I think it’s pot luck when people get their valuations. Some people on here got a valuation the day after application submitted and others at the end (including us). We applied on the 19th December and our valuation was on the 14th Jan, and still awaiting the result. Should be tomorrow we get an offer

I hope you get the offer tomorrow nothing worse than expecting news then having to wait longer. I’m at my wits end I’m going to call nationwide again and find out if they know when the instruction will actually make it to countrywide, they just keep saying it’s 6 working days.
Like you said some people are told valuation instructed, booked and received in the same day. No such luck for us. Although after a phone call today we managed to get the application approved after a couple of hours.
Do you think once the valuation is received back it’s sure offer will be made? Again some people get it straight away I wonder what else could go wrong after -will they look at the whole application again even though it’s approved :/

You sound exactly as worried and fretting like me! It’s the worst isn’t it!
If you’ve passed everything else and it’s just awaiting valuation, then you should be fine to go straight to offer (unless the valuation shows significant issues). Ours is a new build so there really shouldn’t be any problems (which is what I’m telling myself!!)

I was expecting news in the afternoon after the valuation like others have had same day, but still waiting along with somebody else on this forum, it’s just annoying having to wait! The house buying process is stressful enough 😂
    fingers crossed for you though!
  • I have to say it’s been the worst experience for us from the beginning 6 months trying to find a house that some other buyer hasn’t beat us to (don’t get me started on some of the estate agents). Then finally got an offer accepted. Our MA said tsb was our best bet lender wise, everything went right through to the end (hard searches passed, documents satisfied, valuation done) then suddenly we were audited and they just simply declined and said they just didn’t want to lend and it’s their choice. I can’t deal with that right now because I need to move on before we lose the house. But that is probably the main reason why I can’t even sleep at night and constantly anxious. Nationwide are actually who we both bank with so it would have made more sense to apply with them.. these are the things I shall be dealing with later I just need to get the house before anything. 7 weeks tsb made us wait! Livid!!! And I really can’t afford for another long process the EA will ring me any day now and ask why my solicitors still haven’t got our offer! It is so stressful I refuse to house hunt again 🤦🏻‍♀️ And probably unfairly expecting NW to perform a miracle speed wise but I can’t wait. They are very reassuring on the phone but I was assured about tsb and look how that turned out
