Another week of waiting, although I'm hoping we'll know before the end of the week 😬
Start of week 10 for us tomorrow, the valuation was done last week so I’m hoping beyond all hope it comes through all ok this week!Start of week 9 for us.......Thank you 😊Hopefully you’ll hear something this week now the price has been amended! It shouldn’t be much longer for you I’d have thought.1 -
Mishelski said:Early hours this morning I got a notification saying nationwide ran a hard search on me. I'm hoping this means the underwriters have looked at my case and once the valuation is done it can go straight to offer.
I'm going to check in with my MA today to see if they have requested any documents, as up to now they haven't asked for anything.
Im so nervous incase they have declined it. I have a satisfied CCJ for £297 which was registered 3 years ago and settled 2 years ago, and my credit score is poor but no defaults, missed/late payments.
Its so nerve-wracking! I find myself checking my phone for a update constantly! My valuation is Friday!
Good luck!

Hi all, I haven’t posted since this thread was on page 124 because honestly it was just making me crazy and upset seeing everyone sail through so much quicker!
Posting our timeline for the final time, hoping that if anyone is like us they can find some hope and also just to give those on working day 5 a little bit of insight and patience when worrying about a valuation not being instructed yet... mine was through a broker and anyone starting this process I don’t recommend you use one.
if it doesn’t seem right then take matters into your own hands. I had so many calls to nationwide I saved them as a contact. I also reached out to the sellers with a letter as I knew they were getting pressure from the new build company they were buying from and communication with them has made the process a hundred times easier and less stressful.
Good luck all, wish you the best!15th August - house viewing and offer made
17th August - offer negotiated to higher price of £392,500 and accepted
20th August - meeting with mortgage broker in to complete application
1st September - confirmation of application being received
10th September - notification from my ClearScore app of a hard credit check being carried out
25th September - called to see what the status is, told missing bank statements (we had supplied to broker on the 20th) and a material change form needed as broker initially put the purchase price of £390,000.
Between 25th and the 8th October - lots of phone calls and chasing to broker/nationwide to sort out the material change, broker had submitted a document to make the change earlier in the process on the 9th September but nationwide deemed it unacceptable and asked for a specific form to be completed, this was completed during week commencing 28th September and I confirmed with the nationwide web chat this had been received from our broker. called again on the 7th October to ask for update to be told that they couldn’t accept any document and the purchase price had to be changed over the phone and only our broker could do it not us.
8th October - broker called nationwide to change the purchase price to £392,500
12th October – called Nationwide and told valuation will likely be booked on the 23rd October
Now- waiting for the post!19th October – called Nationwide, documents have gone through initial assessment and are with the underwriters, this stage could see more documents requested or we will have a valuation instructed in the 30th October (not necessarily for the 30th, could take place up to 2 weeks after)
28th October – told via webchat and subsequently on the phoneline that we’d been declined due to affordability and the note was added to our case on the 23rd October
28th October – sent our payslips again and confirmed salaries + bonus for consideration to Nationwide myself
29th October – reached out to Broker who called and corrected as well
30th October – Called Nationwide to find out when the Valuation will be booked/move onto next stage and was told this won’t happen until the 13thNovember.
31st October – text Broker asking a question, told he’s leaving the firm with immediate effect and no longer can access our case
3rd November - escalated to director of the broker firm explaining the timeline and that I will be following the complaints procedure (he then escalated the case personally with the business development manager at Nationwide)
5th November - case back with underwriters for a third assessment
10th November - new affordability calculated, 6k less than initially advised we could borrow, we said we can supplement with bigger deposit, case went back to underwriters for a fourth ‘initial’ assessment
12th November text of valuation being instructed
17th November text confirming valuation taking place on the 21st November
21st November texts immediately after eachother: a) valuation is complete and approved b) your mortgage offer is accepted and issued
