Do people get texts even if they apply through MB? The only text I have received is a valuation text asking to confirm details. Will I get more texts to say valuation booked/ completed?
You should do but they're anything but consistent with the texts they send.

Just received two texts saying valuation received and valuation approved.
Did you have a 'valuation booked' text at all?
No. I believe they did a desktop valuation.

First contact from mortgage consultant yesterday to say the underwriters are saying that they have only have 2m bank statements.  Mortgage consultant told them they were lying and indeed had 3m.  Oh yes, so we do...  No further action required, continue to wait...
  • Looks like there goes another blinking day 😭 what are these people doing, one application a day!!

At what point do you sack off Nationwide as incapable of providing the service promised and ask them to remove the hard search? Only stopped with them to save on the £900.00 early repayment fee on my previous mortgage. At 34 working days in and imminently losing the property we offered on I don't think it's worth it. Took a risk and paid for all the searches etc and solicitors fees will be mounting in the background on what could still be a no just to appease vendor and estate agents.

I wasn't aware you could have a search removed? We have the solicitors doing all the searches too. We put in another mortgage application last week too Halifax. Just in case nationwide say no or drag it out even longer. We decided not to put all our eggs is this basket which seems to have a hole in the bottom of it lol fingers crossed you get an answer soon

Can't believe it what could possibly be taking so long I know it's a lot of money and with covid there is added risk but it's a yes or no why does that take months
  • Nationwide certainly take the shine out of buying a new house. WD 30 today, getting fed up now, don't care any more if we are accepted or not. I've also noticed that the average waiting time from app to offer has gone down to 20 days.
They shouldn't be allowed to mess with peoples lifes like this.
