Wrote rather a long list this morning. Too ambitious, especially as I kept adding to it as the day went on.
DW on, emptied, put away.
Hung soon-to-be passed on riding coat on the washing line, after inspection decided I must have washed it before I put it away; emptied hay and horse food from pockets though. Cleaned leather parts of the gloves.
Went to garden centre but sadly no suitable veg plants to fill in the gap where my peas were. However, as seeds were half price, I bought some French bean seeds which said sow April-July so it's worth a try and they are soaking overnight. Also bought half price basil and rocket seeds. Had a coffee in the garden of the centre, rather sulkily as they weren't taking membership cards for free coffee at the moment so I had to pay.
Took out one large overgrown shrub from front garden and heavily pruned hebe which it had been squashing. Hebe had layered itself and grown roots, so I put 8 bits in pots, 3 in my 'nursery bed' and one in the garden (one of the jobs which wasn't on my original list!). If they all survive we will have loads.
Did various other garden bits.
Filled bird feeders.
Watered greenhouse.
Did a couple of listed emails.
Did a bit of my course.
Started to make 2 more masks, plan being that once they were done I could put away the sewing machine and debris and fly round the lounge. However, half way through I went to prepare dinner and sliced off a small bit of my thumb peeling a swede!!! That was definitely not on the list. Had it under the tap whimpering when Mr N came downstairs after Zooming his friends and put plasters on it for me. Pathetic but I was really quite shocked, it was pretty painful and we had to get the nail clippers to take off sliced nail. At that point Mr N took over dinner while I watered the greenhouse.
Returned and made biscuits ready for friend who is coming tomorrow to collect the riding stuff.
And so endeth my day, after putting on new plaster as the blood had soaked through the first two, sorry tmi. Didn't see the comet as cloud was in the way, but I'm going to look again later.

Good morning WAC members. It was a beautiful sunrise, but frankly I would rather have had an extra hour's sleep! never mind, I am sitting here with a cuppa, watching the baby squirrels negotiating the ash tree.
Narc0, ouch! Hope the throbbing settles soon xx
Had a long conversation late yesterday evening with DS1 about redecoration work and other jobs, so perhaps that is why my head woke me up at 5.00 before my body was ready. One small piece of good news is that the short piece of MDF skirting in the bathroom that had got wet in the recent mini-flood and dried into a deep curve has, with the help of some judiciously placed weights, now settled back into a nice straight line - so it can simply be glued or screwed back on the wall. I don't have to buy a 2m length of the stuff and throw half away, and the bathroom decor only needs little bits touching up, which is well within my physical capability, saving me £££. The rest is a logistical nightmare when you factor in visits from grandchildren! Today's flying will be emptying the built-in study cupboard so that it can be built out - i.e. demolished - when DS1 comes round tomorrow afternoon.
DS1 and family have just adopted a second dog: a 5yo Weimaraner which they are calling Merlin, whose previous owner had to give him up when he became terminally ill. I love Weimaraners! Their first dog, Dillon, is also a rescue but very different in looks and temperament - almost Saluki-like, and so laid back as to be horizontal. Merlin, who is used to being the only hound in the house, has already decided that he wants to be top dog. Fortunately Dillon isn't too bothered, and they have two sofas so no squabbling! Dillon doesn't worry Rosie, but I'm not sure what she will make of Merlin.
Right - flying must begin with an email to the decorator. And maybe I'll get out for lunch with my friend later.
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xx7 -
Good morning all, especially Iona, who I was “with” in the WAC and at sunrise. I have read a bit more of my book in bed, as it is no work day due to school having broken up.
Today DSiL and BiL are dropping by on their way through to elsewhere, for SD bacon rolls and coffee. I haven’t seen them since Christmas (we would normally have been together at least at Easter, if not other times), so that will be a nice change. I am getting concerned about DD, as not having even the weekly school visit to look forward to now if getting her seriously down. Absolutely no chance of her finding a summer job either, even without the fact that where we live isn’t easily accessible without car of mum or dad.
So far this morning, I have stripped the bed and loaded the wm. I really need to factor in HH paperwork x a zillionsqillion, but am sure that I can find another excuse not to.Have a lovely day all, back later x7 -
Morning all,
A bit of a late start for me as I had an early appointment at the doctors for a repeat prescription and general check up. It was a locum as usual doctor is on holiday, but she was very nice, said all my blood test results were good (even though I know they are creeping the wrong way), she didn't say I should watch what I ear (even though I know I need to get rid of 5 kilos), so that makes her a very pleasant young doctor. I'm easily pleased!
Bed made, clothes picked up
At home for the rest of the day so hoping to fly. Coffee first.

washing pegged out because the weather does not match the forecast.
I have ironed what was dried yesterday, so that's airing; ironing board left out so I can iron what's on the line shortly. Just listening to Yes Minister on radio 4 extra.

I have spent most of the morning emptying the triple cupboard in the study-bedroom and stacking everything neatly in my bedroom and the cupboard on the landing. I gave up tying to sort all the family history papers as I went along - I will have to tackle one box at a time over a period of several weeks. But it is now clear for DS1 to start the demolition
However, Rosie is upset at all the moving around
I also wrote a detailed email to the tradesman who is going to do the redecoration (I hope!).
Off out now for a late lunch at the local GC: my friend said she didn't feel well enough to drive, but I managed to alter the time of the booking, so DH is coming with me

Cycled a long route to the tomato farm this morning, given me a few ideas for running routes so I will have to consult the map. Possibly the last tomatoes we will need from there as I picked my first 'tumbler' and more are ripening. Plus even more cucumbers.
Successfully decluttered 4 prs jodhpurs as well as the coat and gloves to friend; win-win as I now have more room and she gave Mr N a haircut in the garden as 'payment'. Lovely also to catch up; she is a busy care worker so I don't see her much. We enjoyed the biscuits I made too.
Done more of my course.
Weeded and dug the ex-pea bed with Mr N's help and sowed the French bean seeds; too many as usual so I have them in various other locations as well as some in pots and tubs. Sowed basil and hope this comes up, which the last 3 sowings didn't; however the latter were from China via Amazoo....
Looked up some prices for a possible holiday for next year.
For bird lovers, especially fellow fairy fanatics, we have been seeing a flock of 10-12 fairies in the garden for the last 3 days. Teeny tiny, very fluffy and yet to grow into their tails! Fantastic as we usually only see them in the winter. We also have about 100 starlings roosting in the tree at the bottom of the garden; great noise as they settle down but golly they are eating a lot.
I'm quite sure I must have done something else useful, but really can't remember. Am about to do the greenhouse watering and plan to finish sewing masks after dinner - yeah, right.

I do NOT like this club!
