What a saga! Get into car to go to opticians and it won't start, so think never mind will take OHs toy car (convertible sports car) but that has a flat battery; So DD2 pushes me to start mine, we go to the opticians which luckily is next to car repair centre. Once spare part for glasses ordered, we try car but of course it's still dead so head into car repair place. Suitable battery in stock so changed. Now several euros lighter and feeling emotionally exhausted. Time for a cup of tea and maybe even a biscuit.8

Very quiet day here, as himself has been called in to do another shift, so I'm debating about going to lie down - something I haven't done during in the day for ages - as, in addition to the attentions of a nice nurse brandishing something resembling a bottlebrush at my nethers yesterday (only about a decade late, thanks to not being able to get appointments outside working hours or getting to the old practice to find that the appointment was cancelled because the person doing it was on holiday), she also kindly stabbed me in the shoulder with a pneumonia vaccine. I'm a huge fan of vaccinations against stuff that can kill you, but I have to admit that my arm really hurts and I do feel quite achey and tired today. Oh, and I'm hugely fat. Not her words, mine.
I have, however, emptied my chest of drawers and bagged up almost everything, as it's all for my more normal slightly-less-fat-than-now proportions. Himself took it away and put it all in the loft as he reckons there's a good chance I'll fit into most of it again fairly soon when I'm back at work. In the meantime, however, I have pretty much nothing to wear, so I braved internet shopping and am awaiting a delivery of two pairs of jeans and a jumper - if they fit and are reasonable price, I will make myself buy a couple of work appropriate things from the same place, as the usual places have the most appalling combinations of old lady dresses or stripper gear with anything tolerable being out of stock.
This means there is no floordrobe, as I hung up everything that needed to be for a change. which is nice. Assuming I'll be able to get into any of it.
I think I'm going to make a cuppa and head up with a spray bottle and cloth to damp dust the top of the CoD and windowsills. That counts as flying.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll8 -
Me too, Valli. I can categorically say that there is no dust in my bedroom because I have not looked for any evidence of it!
Today I
- S&S'd kitchen
- finished 4 strings of bunting - it looks lovely
- read and photographed the gas and elec meters and sent the info to both my current [see what I did there?] and future suppliers
- watered all the houseplants
- made a phonecall that I kept forgetting to do at the right time to catch the person at home; caught him this time
- stripped my bed and remade with clean sheets
- did WMx3 and hung out
- cleaned the ensuite thoroughly
- hoovered and dusted the DR, LR (including sofas), DH's bedroom and the hall and stairs before the Dy$on ran out of charge [oops!]
- sent emails
- had about 30 min zzz after lunch
- did jigsaws
- took Rosie for her walk
- fed us at appropriate times
This evening I need to
- check a quote for various jobs inside and out
- find out where the only brand of decaf coffee that I can drink without getting a migraine is on sale at the lowest price
- send more emails
- check another file of family history records
Hope everyone gets a good night's sleep tonight xx7 -
It’s been a stupid busy day at work today. I like it busy but I hate the Going Backwards feeling - I have enough of that at home! Flying obviously peaked first thing, when I watered the garden veg, set a load of washing running, emptied the dw and sorted the clean washing. This evening has been water the allotment, cook dinner WULTD, and pretend to clean the kitchen. Rhubarb picked to make the final batch of jam and some chutney. I’ve looked at the meal plan for tomorrow night, and it seems that we ate tomorrow’s chicken in tonight’s stir fry. So much for being organised.I’ve been propping up the WAC for the past couple of nights (and also been listening to a noisy CPAP wearer), so am looking forward to having a full night’s sleep at some point, preferably tonight.6

Hi all, I have read but not absorbed much, tired now. GI how lovely to have a wedding to look forward to!
Round I do live in the countryside to be fair, but my neighbours used to be circus performers, now there's a story for another day. I think the Flylady shield is working, even when the colleague who has been annoying me said in a meeting today that she had done something clever that I had actually done I just let it all roll off me.
Leftover odds and ends for tea, getting quite a collection in the freezer so some needs using up. Our bed changed, upstairs dusted and hoovered, floors mopped, clean washing put away. Bedtime now, have got some new podcasts to listen too, night all xx7 -
That's it. I give up. I am never attempting Toad in the Hole again.
I might have finally cracked individual Yorkshire puddings but toad has me well and truly beat. Bread and butter pudding was divine and devoured voraciously by DS. Feeding hungry men I can do. Tasty puddings and fluffy dumplings floating in unctuous stews are my forte. Why am I not married to a farmer with half a dozen strapping sons?
Anyway bathroom tomorrow, full list will be put up in the morning.
(I have long been of the opinion that sartorially I would be suited to the farming life given my preferred clothing style. Add to that my jam making skills, my tolerance of a fair amount of muck, my mechanical abilities and various other fantasies...)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Good morning
Another day at the paid stuff, need to get petrol on my way in. I did think about rushing through the ironing pile before I went, but the madness soon passed.
Have a lovely day all.6 -

Morning all
I am back at the paid stuff today after a long weekend, logged on about an hour ago to more than 200 emails! Have sorted and filed them, the ones with actual actions for me in there have been prioritised, the others will be tackled through the course of the day.
I have made my work list for the next 3 days too, it’s all doable as long as nobody dumps anything else on me (fat chance!!]
Anyway, I’ve just made second cuppa and will have breakfast before going back to the office to start my day proper, flying the last couple of days has been just the basics but the house is looking pretty good after our weekend efforts. I have just swished over the downstairs loo (that’s a bathroom right?!) If all goes to plan i will finish at 4 so will be able to fly some more then.
Hugs, sticks, spoons all round, take as needed, back later xx8
