ionafan - is it a rotator cuff injury? Look after yourself xx Sweetie and I have discussed six inches of Polish train timetables and wonder if (a) Mr fan is Polish or (b) has lived in Poland? I have watched a lot of train journeys on tv and I don't remember Poland being high on the agenda. We're nosey curious xx
Mr fan is Welsh (well, half-Welsh - his mother was English but he chooses to gloss over that and claim Welsh nationality through the paternal line). Until very recently, Poland had the last steam trains in Europe to operate on timetabled services (between Poznan and Wolsztyn) and DH used to go out there every year to drive steam engines on the commuter trains. The summer before we got married, he took me with him, and so I am able to boast that I am a maszynistkaWe have also had some good cheap holidays in southern Poland, but there's not much chance now of visiting again for quite a while. DH actually speaks more Polish than Welsh (food, drink and railway speak only!), but my little bit of Welsh is more than his Polish (and I'm English)!

Argh! How is it Monday evening already!? Seriously, I need 45 hours in each day!
I've been to midway between Shrewsbury and Telford today to collect another 60 eggs for hatching. We have already bought a new incubator last week, but looks like a big-boy one is needed soon. They do, however, cost lots of £££s, so I'm very reluctant to agree to buying one just yet.
I don't actually recall doing any flying today - at least nothing specific, so I'll have to make a better effort tomorrow. I'm exhausted today as DH kept me awake most of the night with blocked sinuses from scuba diving....grrrr...even with his CPAP machine he sounded like a drowning rhino. I've been grumpy all day and really need a good night's sleep tonight.
Oh, I did repaint a plant pot to better match the decor in the dining room...and order a giant houseplant and pot liner online. Just debating if I can paint a resin figure of a bird too...oh, and I need to choose and order some metal paint to jazz up the old cast iron garden set...
Make that 53 hours needed...7 -
I forgot to say that I also
- stripped DH's bed
- did WMx2 and hung it out to dry
- did my HHI
- re-made DH's bed
Tomorrow I must do some paperwork and make phonecalls. I also want to finish 4 lots of bunting.
Dizzy, I sympathise re; the CPAP machine. And the 53 hours in a day.6 -
Round my neighbour used to have a Llama, does that beat your pig?
Rubbish day at the paid stuff again, not loving it at the moment but there are more reasons to stick with it than leave. I have done 10 hours today, I reckon I can get my hours done by Thursday then have Friday off. Actually taking Friday off will be the hard thing, I might need your help to kick me up the backside if I just keep working.
Spag bol made for tea, 3 loads of washing done (some still to put away), LR hoovered and dusted, bathroom swished. Off to bed to read for a bit, 8am start tomorrow, oh joy!

More decluttering. Emptied 1 carrier bag full of fairly new socks from MIL when she left her flat, have been lurking in our garage and now been through WM and ready for charity.
Tried on several pairs of jodhpurs and condemned 1 to bin and at least 3 to be given away. Joined socks in WM. That's another pile no longer cluttering up bedroom.
Went to 2 garden centres seeking veg plants to fill in gaps but both closed.
Made 1 loaf and enough dough for 3 pizzas, 2 now frozen and one cooked this eve.
Went for long cycle, Hertford and back to drop off "pocket money" for mil. Lovely as most of it was next to the canal, but rather too far for pathetic me and I was struggling by the end. Promptly fell asleep on the sofa and couldn't rouse energy or enthusiasm to sit on another saddle i.e. the motorbike , to visit a friend Mr N used to work with. He went alone while I made the pizza then did some of my online course.
Did some washing up and cursory kitchen tidying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
I'm in and a big thank you for the list.
Laptop dying and DH can't keep it going much longer so had to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Hopefully that will save time doing everything from online shop to banking to posting on here, it should arrive tomorrow. Half a day working today and then don't seem to have stopped for the rest of it but equally seem to have achieved very little. Day off tomorrow so will try to be more organised.
Hugs to everyone in need xx

Morning xx
Thank you ionafan xx Curiosity satisfiedAll I knew about Poland was that they had sugar beet factories. Random but presumably still true.
YL - oh yes, a llama is far more exotic than a pig. But do you live near fields? I live in a row of council houses!!! Not far away from fields but said pig lived in a back garden. He was bought as a micro pig....he wasn't!!!! Fayolle - you made me laugh xx
Valli - I went out to the gate to look north at 10.30pm but the sky in that direction was still quite light and low horizon is blocked by trees and street lights. As I thought I will have to drive north in to open countryside to try and spot the comet. Lots of beautiful stars shining to the south though...it was dark in that direction.
Heigh ho to the paid stuff today. Bed is made, I'm showered, dressed, breakfasted and lunch is packed. Birds will be fed and rubbish / recycling put out.
Hope you have a better day today YL xx I've imagined a purple latex flylady shield protecting you from all that seeks to harm.
Have a good day.
