  • Morning all

Feeling like sh8te today. Had a work's drinks do last night all of it paid for my work (naturally I paid £0!) - so I made the most of it and am feeling the effects today. Any OS tips for dealing with a monstrous hangover?

  • Eat something.

I know you're not going to,I had a b*gger of a hangover a couple of weeks ago and couldn't possibly have eaten anything.I went back to bed and slept it off, then had to put up with my 10 yo son lecturing me about the evils of drink -I think he told his teacher that Mum was drunk all weekend :o I only had one bottle of wine too, think I drank it too quickly.

It hasn't put me off drinking though ;)

    Hello Simonkey

You are probably dehydrated, so drink plenty of NON alcoholic drinks. If you have something like Lucozade that would be ideal but plain water will do.

As suggested, try to eat something too.

The intake of fluids will help but if you've got a banging headache that won't shift, you'll probably need a pain killer tablet too.

You probably won't feel like it, but exercise is a good way to shift the effects of excess alcohol. Go for a walk and get some fresh air.

By the way, I never get a hangover if I stick to Smirnoff vodka (any brand will do;) ) so you might want to try vodka next time.

I hope you're feeling better soon.

    Kind Regards

    Nile

I second Nile's advice, in fact ALL the advice you've been given. :)

We have an older thread on hangover cures so I'll merge your post with it shortly. the usual rules apply - older posts are listed first so you'll need to read from the beginning to pick up any new tips (or drill in all these new ones) :)

  • Hi Nile

Was drinking white wine, but had one glass of red then went back to white - so obv this is what I am blaming!

Cheers for tip re vodka but I try and stay off it as it makes me argumentative- I'm a lost cause aren't I!

Might go for the walk cos it's not like I'm doing any work ha ha!!

An alcazeltza before bed, drop it into a pint of water and drink the lot. Then have another alcazetza in a pint of water (or diluty juice) in the morning. then eat a banana and a big bowl of cerial then some toast. that should do it.
