I have now had my cavity wall insulation and loft insulation installed via the vouchers.  I'm now waiting for the secondary voucher to be released for my external door.  I used Saving Energy Ltd who were very good.
A question from someone who knows nothing about this sort of stuff - how can I tell if my house can get cavity wall insulation? It's a timber frame house that was built in 2002/2003.
You won't be able to tell is the short answer.  The insulation company will come out and do a survey and drill some small holes into your walls to check whether it's possible.  To be honest, my house was so cold that I'd have been shocked if it turned out cavity wall insulation had been installed!
Thanks Rajan. I'll try and find a specialist tomorrow. I also want to know just how much insulation I actually have. Like your house, 2 of my rooms are terrible at times! If one room is OK, the other is freezing. And if the other is fine, the other one is freezing!

Can anyone recommend a good insulation specialist in or around Enfield, North London?
You will see from previous posts I made on here that I had a fantastic experience with a company called InstaGroup - so professional, actually came and bothered to do a full survey and were the cheapest too from all those I contacted and the rest just emailed me a quote with over inflated prices! I am in Hertfordshire so not far from you and am sure they will cover your area.
Hi Sarn, are these the guys you contacted? https://www.instagroup.co.uk/insulation-products/
    Yes, that is them :-

So having had my loft and cavity wall insulation installed, I have discovered that my trustmark registered external door supplier aren't PAS2030 registered so I can't use their quotation which I submitted. Does anyone know any door installers in South East England who I can contact? I have tried all 4 companies listed for Kent and none of them seem particularly interested in doing the work which highlights how shambolic this scheme is.

I've got an updated quote with all the new details GHG asked for, and I've sent it to their email. No confirmation or anything, and who knows whats happening. This is ridiculous!

Ouch! I've just called 4 companies and each one of them have said that as I have a timber frame build they cannot help.

Can anyone recommend any companies that could possibly deal with a timber frame build?

As expected GHG Applications have NOT gone live today !!
They do not know when the system will be up and running. Totally clueless - they fob you off every time you speak to them - same lines used every time.  Can’t give you any updates other than your application is being processed - since  mid Oct 2020 - really?
No advance on status of application since this date - Total Shambles !!

    Update:
Spoke with GHG today - same BS - application being processed ,
some progress -  was told it is being processed and will be REVIEWED BY A DECISION MAKER - basically your application is still no further forward and we will keep telling you the same pre filled BS  answers to get rid of you.

Beyond a Joke  - you’ll keep on receiving the same BS generic answers.
They have set up a system Telephone / Chat/ Email that gives you absolutely
no information regards your claim.  Priceless........

  • Some hope for anyone waiting, I got my email voucher today - £10,000.00 towards external wall insulation. The company said they had about 150 quotes out and had approval for just three so far. I applied on the first morning and had heard nothing up until this point so don't give up.

    Congratualtions.
When was your quote valid to?

Just got an email from them saying:
    --
We have found inconsistences with your application and require further information.
    • Your quote for air/heat source pump expired on 11 October 2020.
    --
Most quotes are valid for a month so everyone who applied within the first 4 weeks of the scheme opening will now be in this situation
