Is anyone got ewi quotes to hand, what are your builders coming back with on 3 bed homes?
    The final quote was £7500
The cynic in me would point out thats the exact point at which you start paying for it all yourself, and therefore the sweet spot for any quote!
Yeah well to be fair this was my doing mostly. They quoted me for £3300 originally, then I wanted to add anything to get the most out of the grant, hence the internal insulation and extending the roof rather than using the metal strip they normally use. Maybe its a bit odd that it came to £7500 still, but it still seems about right. They are a very large reputable company, and have done many of the grant schemes in the past, so they aren't cowboys :)

Anyone else had any inspectors come out or vouchers - seems to have gone all quiet again?

My installer has sent me an updated quotation today with 80 hours of work included. (No idea whether that is reasonable - we’ve never had any heating before).

Ive sent that to the customer email address. My original quotation was sent in weeks ago and no voucher yet.

I spoke to one installer who said out of a few hundred customers that have sent in their applications he's only had 4 vouchers so far.

    Quick Update :
Spoke  to GHG last week was told that my claim Had just started being processed and that it  shouldnt take long now. Thought Great!!

Spoke again today regards progress: Was told that my application WAS  NOT being processed and that it was still waiting on hold for  the team to look at it, and had NOT been moved up to processing stage - he could not give any timescales??

Agent stated he could not say why I was misled? - sorry fobbed off !!

Asked when application would go live online - was told next week,  Agent stated that the online system was still being built and tested at the minute with one week left to go live, Basically don’t hold your breath and expect the online system to be a total shambles - just like the GHG Scheme.

Beginning to think this is a total waste of time.

This is why they've added a year to it, it'll take that long to get the system going!

So I used the online chat for GHG scheme and asked them if I needed to get a new quote with all the ridiculous details they recently said were necessary. They said yes I do, even though I applied at the very start. I read on here someone saying if you applied before they sen that email asking for new details then you didnt need to obtain a new quote?

Its so confusing, they never seem to know what they are talking about. Its just very frustrating that they change everything, keep telling me to wait and something will happen in a few weeks. Its so badly organised

I have now had my cavity wall insulation and loft insulation installed via the vouchers.  I'm now waiting for the secondary voucher to be released for my external door.  I used Saving Energy Ltd who were very good.

Wow you actually had the work done already. I didnt realise anyone had. Good to know somethings happening. Out of interest, how quickly did you apply for the voucher after the scheme started?
