Does anybody know the normal lead time to getting back the final sellers contract for signature..
Our solicitor sent 60 questions back to the sellers solicitor and we are awaiting those answer so they can create the final contract.
Those questions were sent on the 2nd july and still we haven't heard back from them. I've sent a chase email yesterday
Just wondering what other people are going through with this as well?0 -

Just wondering what other people are going through with this as well?Although we had 6 or 7 questions raised by our solicitor but they ware answered within 2 days. And Our one started at roughly this same time as we paid on the 2nd for the searches .And I’ve just notice that HTB has delays with authority to exchange and authority to complete ... oh well 😔0 -
🎉 just got our mortgage offer 😁0

Our MB phoned today and advised Halifax are currently working on self employed applications from the 14th July, we submitted our appeal on the 16th 🙈 seriously fed up of this waiting only to likely be told no again 😔0

My valuation is next Tuesday so hopefully this time next week I'll be in the same position
and our valuation is non disclosed and HTB needs a valuation, my MA didn’t answer so emailed our solicitor. She will sort out Barclays so don’t need to worry about the valuation being non disclosed 😁
I think I need a drink .
then : skip , cancel all the bills , forward post, start packing .0 -
@Jazmin28 thanks .
Did you have a go at this :
Please check your buildings insurance cover
If you haven't already, you need to arrange buildings insurance that covers the full rebuild cost of the property you'd like a mortgage for. The insurance policy must start on the date you exchange contracts with the seller.

Just spoken to my MA. Earlier in the week, Halifax had told her that there's an IT issue preventing valuations going to offer (obviously rubbish), but now they've told her the actual issue is that the stamp duty amount which was being paid by our builders (£3500) is over the threshold allowed by Help to Buy. Obviously this is no longer an issue since the stamp duty changes, but a) why are Halifax sneaky little liars, and b) why were my builders offering to pay stamp duty that is over the threshold allowed by HTB?
We now have to wait for our builders to send our MA a form which confirms how much stamp duty they're paying since the changes. Frustrating!0
