our valuation is on 23/07 not 17/07 ....

Normal postage I believe but I have received my offer via the broker via email today

PS - Home Buyers Report - Essential really to check for any “show stoppers”! I paid for it to be done with the valuation.

Yes we know about this Service charge and our MA said he put it on our application...

Its 30 pounds a month for the service charge and that is just because its a private residential community.. 
What do you mean by service charges that could be levied.. is there something i could be missing here?

Our solicitors have been in touch with the developers and they know about this as it is the draft contract. 

I still haven't heard back from our MA on the application.. i guess we might not find out till next week, i am unsure if they work on the weekends..

Yes we are planning on getting a snagger in to double check the house over.. looks well built to me and my family who are pretty knowledge about it but wanted a once over. I will book that it once i know the mortgage offer is there.. 

Also// does anyone know if they do further hard or soft checks once you have the offer? 
Will they be checking on this any more... i'm looking to change my car lol

@Jazmin28 I’ve asked my MA this as we had a long talk when I called him unhappy about change of the valuation date , he said don’t do anything stupid so I would say no , as they can change your “affordability” but then he said all I need is a valuation and my offer should be on this same day as all is underwritten, was more of a “it’s Covid and thinks take longer and don’t worry everything is fine” But don’t abuse you plastic and don’t open any new accounts .

We're now awaiting Halifax's decision. Application went in on Friday AM, with a hard search accompanying it, I then paid the application fee, and then a soft affordability check was also carried out yesterday (didn't realise things happened on a Sat). Broker reckons it's taking around a week to get a decision at the moment. Not knowing anything is killing me!

So we are still waiting on a decision from Halifax.. valuation was done on the 16th, and report was all fine and they sent an email saying that the money was available.. but now nothing. Yesterday they asked the MA to key in my partners work address again, but that was already done and i think it might of been a system error. 
I've asked him again today but there was no further update..

Is anybody else in this position.. MA keeps saying that he cant speak to anyone there as it all automated..why is there is delay, what is the next steps are this? any information to keep me sane would be great..

By the sounds of it, Halifax has gone into an administrative slump...

MA's have to email Halifax to request a callback - it is the only way to make contact with Halifax apparently!

No updates seems to be the theme at the moment... Not ideal! We put our app in on 24/6 and are still with underwriters. According to our MA, they are on a 9 day turnaround with underwriting process, which means we SHOULD hear back today but are also still yet to have a date booked in for valuation. The fact that we have heard nothing for about 3 weeks now is really worrying.
